Ready or not – retailers are about to make the seasonal shift to fall. July is always all about end-of-season sales (a great time to snag some discounts), and in August, you will start seeing the fall roll out with back-to-school. Retail is always ahead when it comes to seasonal shifts. So, with that being said, if you’re still shopping for shorts and sandals, July is the time to find them, as you’ll see fewer options over the next month. If you want to be ahead of the game and snag your size, I’ll begin sharing fall options as they’re released (boots, jackets/coats, jeans) in late July and August!

Now and Later Summer Outfits
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
In today’s post, I’m sharing a few summer finds from LOFT that you can mix with some of those early fall releases now and later!
Utility Dress
The cargo/utility style has been popular this season. I never got into cargo pants, but I can get into a cargo dress. This dress is thick and structured but also roomy throughout the body. So you may want to size down if you’re in between sizes. It does have tabs with buttons on the sides, but they are not functional. Due to the shape of the sleeves, this dress isn’t the best for layering, but the weight of the dress makes it one that can work now and later. You can also warm it up in cooler weather with a sweater over your shoulders.

Wrap Skirt
I think this wrap skirt is so pretty for summer. I love it with a simple white top, but as the weather cools or if you need an extra layer now, the olive sweater is a great pairing. I had the room in the waist of the skirt to tuck the sweater in fully, but it would also look great worn half-tucked or untucked if it’s short enough on you. The skirt has a functional tie that cinches in the waist (to a certain point) and it is overall true to size.

Palmer Cropped Wide Leg Pants
I have now shared these pants in three different colors. I love them, and the numerous readers who bought them love them, too! The pants have a fantastic petite length (the perfect cropped wide leg) and are true to size overall. A denim jacket is an easy layer with these pants, but they will also pair well with sweaters into the fall.
