Outfits for Work with Jeans
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
J.Crew Slim Straight Jeans
I’ll start off with a little review of the jeans. They’re stretchy and comfortable (no squeezing your stomach when you sit down). They have a high rise and a slim straight leg (rise: 9 3/4″, inseam: 25″). I personally find them to be true to size overall and note that they stretch out a little bit with wear. The dark wash is clean which makes these a great option for dressing up for work.
With a Vest
I love to layer and love having a little bit of variety, so a sweater vest is a welcome addition to my wardrobe. The one I’m wearing in this post is from J.Crew and has a simple navy and camel print, but it also comes in solid colors. It’s cashmere, so it is a little pricey but we’re entering the season of sales with J. Crew so keep an eye out for that if you love it. I’m wearing it in XXS here and find it be to true to size overall. To note, I find the v-neck to be a little bit too low for me to wear without something underneath. I’ve layered it with a simple white button-down.

With a Cropped Cardigan
Cropped cardigans were popular last fall and winter and I see that continuing into this year. I love the oversized v-neck options like the one I’m wearing in this post, as well as a traditional crewneck cardigan buttoned and worn as a top. The sweater in this post is from Quince. It has an oversized fit in XS on me. The leopard shoes are true to size overall. I’m wearing the cardigan here with a camisole underneath, but you can also layer it with a t-shirt.

With a Corduroy Blazer
I think this corduroy blazer makes a great fall layer. It has a great petite fit in my true size (petite 00) and is beautifully made. I paired it with a ruffle trim henley top, also from J.Crew Factory.

With a Cardigan
Last winter I bought the navy version of this cardigan from Ann Taylor. I loved it (and still do) so I was excited to see a black version come out this year. As far as sizing goes, I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and it fits me well through the sleeves and length. It’s thick and warm with a textured knit. To note, it does have a little bit of a static cling issue with certain bottoms (wool dress pants for example) but it doesn’t cling to my jeans or leggings. Be sure to look out for Ann Taylor’s sales for this one, I can almost guarantee you it will be at least 40% off at some point.
