For my friends who work in a casual environment, here are a few outfit ideas for work with jeans.

Outfits for Work with Jeans
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
I’m shifting to fall dressing on the blog – one of my favorite seasons to dress for. Don’t get me wrong, I love dresses and the beautiful colors of summer dressing, but fall dressing is where my closet staples shine. Year after year I reach for the same dark wash jeans, cozy sweaters, coats and blazers. Many of what you’ll see styled in my fall posts are items I’ve had for years. So, if you’ve been following me for a while, there’s a chance you already own them too. I build my fall capsule posts around these staples that you’ll see styled many times throughout the season.
03 Slim Straight Jeans
For this post, I chose a pair of jeans from J.Crew that checked off all the boxes for a great pair of jeans to wear to work. They’re comfortable (high-stretch denim), have a clean dark wash, and are not distressed. This pair is also mid-rise, so there is no squeezing on your tummy throughout the day. They fit similarly to the slim straight style I used in my Teachers Outfits Series, but this pair has a slightly longer inseam. I find the jeans to be true to size overall, but they do stretch out with wear. This pair is brand new to me, but in my experience, J.Crew jeans with stretch tend to shrink some in the dryer, so I think your true size is still the best choice. For reference, the jeans have a 9″ rise in 24 petite (9.5″ rise in 25 per the website) and a 26″ inseam.
With a Blazer
When it comes to a blazer with a perfect fit, J.Crew is it for me. Their blazers are the only ones I’ve tried with perfect sleeve length. Although their blazers tend to be pricier, they are worth the price. You can’t beat the quality and construction of these blazers; they’re timeless items that will last in your closet for years to come. I love to buy their blazers (and coats) this time of year because they run sales often. At the moment (through 9/3), this blazer is 40% off! The blazer I’m wearing here is the Helena Blazer. It reminds me of my old favorite, the Parke Blazer (I still have that in my closet from years ago). The Helena blazer is a little longer and has a boxier cut if you compare it to the Parke Blazer.

With a Long Sweater
The Juliette sweater from J.Crew is one of my favorite fall staples. It has been in many of my fall capsule wardrobes. This year, they put out a new beautiful color—this soft heather beige. Sizing: This sweater runs large, so if you can size down, that’s your best bet. I can’t size down, so I wear it oversized and still love it! If you want to see this sweater worn multiple ways, check out my fall capsule wardrobe from last fall.

With a Cropped Button Down
I’ve been seeing a lot of cropped button-down tops and jackets this season. While I don’t think it’s a timeless choice, it’s a fun trend. I went for a white version with a classic look, and the cropped length is petite-friendly. I paired the outfit with red Mary Jane flats for a bit of a pop of color. These shoes are the Greta flats from Madewell. I also have these shoes in soft sand, and I find variations in the sizing with different colors. The sand version is true to size, whereas this red version runs a little large. I’m a size 5 so I just went with it, but you may get a better fit with a 1/2 size down in the red version.

With an Oversized Cardigan
This oversized cardigan from Quince is one of my favorite things to reach for when the weather cools down. It comes in multiple color options (I also have it speckled beige) and is the perfect amount of cozt and oversized. Although I have moved to work mainly on Pumps and Push-Ups, I do still go to the office once a week and love comfortable and cozy outfits like this one!
