If you need a winter coat that will keep you dry and warm – but won’t swallow you whole – I’ve got you. I searched high and low for parkas and puffer coats and was hoping I would have more options to share with you, but ultimately landed on two I felt were the best all around.

Petite-Friendly Winter Coats
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Athleta Downtown Puffer Parka
This coat is warm but lightweight at the same time. It doesn’t have a heavy feel, but it’s definitely one that will keep you warm in cold temps. I’m wearing it here in Petite XS and it fits me well overall, with a little extra room. I love that the waist is drawn in to give some shape. It has a removable hood and also has zippers on the side if you want more room for walking since it is a longer coat.

Abercrombie Ultra Parka
Although this coat is shorter than the Athleta coat, it is thicker and warmer. I love the soft faux fur lining and drawstring to pull in the waist. This coat has a removable hood and the pockets are faux fur lined as well. So cozy! I’m wearing it here in XXS. It doesn’t come in petite sizing, but I find it to still be a great fit.

Both are these aren’t budget options, if you are looking for a less expensive option Old Navy has some close ones (they were a tiny bit too big for me but may be great for you)!
