With the capsule wardrobe on my mind, I’ve been shopping for great basics. In particular great sweaters. Personally, I’ve been trying to step out from the usual brands I shop with and try something new. I love my tried-and-true LOFT, J.Crew, and Madewell, but if I can find even more options for Petites that’s really what I’m here to do anyway! So, today’s post is sharing a few different options from one brand I often shop with and some brands I haven’t featured before. At the bottom of the post I’m also sharing some sweaters I found from many of my tried-and-true brands that are great petite options and fit different price ranges.
Slim-Fit Crewneck Sweater
Starting with one of my favorite basics, the crewneck sweater from J.Crew Factory. This particular style is also great at J.Crew in cotton wool and cashmere, but for a budget-friendly option, the factory version is one I often go for. I love that it’s easy to tuck in or wear untucked. It also layers beautifully with sweaters, shackets, jackets, and blazers. I sized up one in this sweater to XS, but if you want a slim fit I would recommend your true size.

Wrap Sweater
Now for a brand I just recently tried and fell in love with – & Other Stories. I ordered a few different sweaters from them and ended up loving every single one. The sleeves are a little long on me on each one, but I feel like that’s something I’m just used to at this point. The price point overall is a little bit high, but overall it falls in line with J.Crew and Madewell – two brands I often shop at. This wrap cardigan fits me so well. I’m used to wrap-style tops gaping and being too low in the chest, but this one stays put and lays beautifully. I’m wearing it in XS in the color “Mole”.

Collared Sweater
If you’ve been shopping for a striped sweater, you know they’re hard to find. They sell out quickly so there’s a chance this one will be sold out before I can get it posted. It does come in other colors and is a great sweater overall, stripes or no stripes. I’m wearing it in XS and it is slightly oversized on me. The fabric is thick with a slight stretch and feels like something that will last.

Sweater Vest
Another brand I’ve been trying to find options from is Mango. Overall I haven’t had the best luck with the fit, but I have found some keepers. For what it’s worth I tried a few different coats, (including their beautiful wrap coats) they were all huge. I also tried a few pairs of jeans and they were too long. One winning item I found is this sweater vest from their teen line. I love the muted colors that can be dressed up and down. I’m wearing it in a size small and it fits me well.

Mockneck Sweater
The last one is a mockneck sweater, also from & Other Stories. This one is also soft and thick and feels very well made. I’m wearing it in XS in the color “Beige Melange”. It comes in several colors and has a cropped fit that hits me at the hip.
