I’m old enough to remember when YouTube was brand new. We were all mesmerized by what you could learn from other people around the world, and I was the most taken back by what I could learn about makeup. Before big events, I would lookup makeup tutorials. If I needed a new product, I would take to YouTube to see what the beauty bloggers we’re saying was the best. My love of makeup was born.
I still watch YouTube makeup tutorials to this day and I love makeup – however, I wouldn’t consider it my area of expertise – I still rely on the beauty bloggers for that. So, the products in this post, weren’t discovered by me – they’re the cult classics that blogger after blogger has recommended and I’ve tried.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light
I’ve tried many foundations and my favorites are always the ones that go on a little light. This one is creamy and light with a matte finish. You can build up coverage if you need to. I use it lighter on my face and build up any coverage for areas I want to conceal more with my concealer.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
This concealer is THE BEST! It has the best coverage and the best staying power of any concealer I’ve used. I’m not sure I can be convinced to buy any other brand after trying this one.
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
I personally think a great powder always makes for a better face makeup. This powder is truly translucent with excellent setting and staying power. I feel like my face looks flawless and my makeup stays put using this.
Mac Fix+ Setting Spray
I’ve been using this setting spray for years now and it continues to be my favorite. It is hydrating, beautifully sets makeup and helps your makeup stay put.
Eye Makeup
Tartlette In Bloom
The award for the prettiest palette goes to this beauty! I walked into ULTA, back when walking into ULTA was a thing, and asked for help picking out a new palette. I was told this palette was one of the most popular and has won tons of awards, so I went for it. It’s an awesome purchase! I love the colors and they have great staying power! I use it with my Mac Fix+ spray as eyeliner as well.
IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara
Hands down, the best mascara I’ve ever used and I’m not the only one to say that. I saw so many raving reviews about this mascara before buying it for myself. I started with the trial size, but I really could have just gone straight for the big one, it’s amazing! It lengthens, gives volume and doesn’t look clumpy or flaky.
Lancome Mascara Base
Beauty bloggers raved about this mascara base, for good reason. I bought this before I bought Superhero lash and used it with a mascara I already had. I loved the results! I love it even more with Superhero mascara.
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize in Marie Antionette
I watched an easy makeup tutorial from Shelby of Glitter & Gingham before buying this fabulous product! Her tutorial showed how to put together a really simple look with the Tartlette in Bloom pallette. I already had the palette so I was sold! The product is really beautiful and can be used alone on your eyes, but looks like a full look!
