A month has passed since starting project aimed at reducing my home’s waste contribution (if you’re just tuning in, you can see the full details of the project here). Already as a household we are recycling so much more than ever. I’m constantly thinking about ideas for how we can cut back on waste, particularly when it comes to packaging. In March I’ll be headed to my local recycling center to see what happens to recyclables when they leave the curb and get some answers to all of my burning questions.
As far as shopping goes, outside of groceries and essentials, I made the following purchases:
– 1 can of primer and 1 can of gloss from a craft store to complete last week’s DIY project.
– 1 pizza pan, stainless steel skillet, metal tongs & 2 cloth napkins all used from the Goodwill.
So far so good with sticking to the terms and holding strong on only shopping my closet. Now, January is always a low spend month anyway because its right after the holidays but I didn’t feel any real need to buy much this month, with the exception of the above items. It’s also a lot easier when I avoid places where I know I won’t be buying anything (like the mall, Target and whatnot).
Outfit recap:
I’m not going to lie, since the last outfit update 3 weeks ago I only took 6 days worth of outfits. Most of this was because I have had some stuff going on in my personal life and there were many days where I didn’t care what I was wearing, much less wanted to take pictures of myself. Also, if you know me you know that me no likey the winter so I kind of start holing up around this time of year which means I spend a lot of time wearing the comfy things.
Thanks for stopping by this week’s update!
xo, Erica
P.S. I know I really need to clean my mirror…
