Summer goes hand in hand with light, breezy linen outfits. Linen is a natural fiber known for being breathable, perfect for a hot summer day. Another surprising fact about linen is that it is antimicrobial, so it is less likely to get stinky from a little sweat, and it absorbs moisture. Linen pieces always wrinkle easily unless they’re blended with another material. So, you can expect all of the pieces in this post to wrinkle to some extent. I included a mix of linen pieces in these outfits, but stay tuned for a post dedicated to linen dresses.

Summer Linen Outfits
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Linen Shorts
I love wearing linen shorts. They keep you cool and dry and have an elevated look—even when they’re wrinkled.
In these first two outfits, I chose a pull-on style from Quince. These shorts are true to size through the waist and are voluminous through the legs. They’re unlined and come in multiple colors. There are matching top options that I tried from Quince that were unfortunately too large for me. But I did land on this halter-style top that I love! The top is thick ottoman stitching with light compression. It has a cropped fit and runs small if you’re used to Quince’s sizing (I’m wearing it in XS for reference). You’ll need a strapless bra with this top.

I’m also a big fan of the Tropez linen shorts at J.Crew. These shorts run large, so you’ll want to go down a size for the best fit. I’m wearing them in XXS for reference. These shorts come in multiple colors and have matching top options as well.

Linen Dress
Although I’ll be dedicating a post to linen dresses, I wanted to share one option with you for this post. This Old Navy dress is blended with Rayon, so it’s not a 100% linen choice but a less expensive option. This unlined dress has adjustable spaghetti-style straps and smocking at the back. More 100% linen options are coming soon!

Linen Pants
The Angie Crop Pants from Splendid are a linen and lyocell blend. They have a breezy, relaxed look and a drawstring waist. Since they’re blended with lyocell, they don’t wrinkle as easily as 100% linen. I’m wearing them in XS, and the cropped length is a perfect full length for my height.
