I don’t know if I’ll ever be someone who wears something just to be trendy. For me, it has to fit my personal style first (a.k.a. has to be something I feel comfortable wearing) and then if it hits on a few trends, that’s great. Today, I’m sharing a few trends I’ve been seeing everywhere and how I’m incorporating them into my personal style.

Summer Trends I’m Loving
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Bold Prints
Neutrals are having their time in the spotlight. I can’t browse Reels without seeing a tan trousers + white slim-top outfit at least once. Don’t get me wrong, I love those outfits, but I also love seeing and wearing something different, so the bold prints I’m also seeing around have been calling my name. First, this maxi dress from Madewell has a bold print and a beautiful maxi-length fit on Petites. I’m wearing it with a low heel in this photo, but I can also wear it with flats. I love the smocked chest (for a perfect fit, up top) and the adjustable spaghetti straps. It’s unlined, but the fabric is substantial and not see-through. While we’re at it, I’ll also never follow fashion rules. Some may say Petites shouldn’t wear large prints, but I think those rules are just a matter of opinion and you should wear what you feel good in.
Next, this peplum top has a beautifully bold print and a great petite fit. I’m wearing it in XXS and it fits me well overall with a cropped fit. In case you’re wondering, the buttons are functional. The jeans are a Stovepipe fit with a full length. I’m wearing them in my true size, Petite 24. These jeans have a high-rise and a hold-you-in stretch, typical of Madewell jeans.

Linen
Linen isn’t really a trend, it’s a classic summer staple. But, this season I’ve been seeing it pop up more than usual. I love linen on just about everything, it’s lightweight and wrinkly – but it gives that carefree summer vibe. These linen shorts from Madewell have a high rise and pleats across the front, making them a trendy pick. I love the style, but recommend going down a size for the best fit overall. The pointelle top I’m wearing with them has a slim cropped fit, but enough length to tuck into a high bottom.

Crochet
I started seeing crochet popping up in the spring. Every crochet piece I tried to put on my blog sold out before I could even post it and now I’m seeing it everywhere! I personally have been into crochet tops the most, but also love some dresses. The two tops in this post are thicker overall, but both open-knit. I wear a camisole under mine. I’m wearing both of them in XXS and the sleeveless one has the best fit of the two, with the long sleeve option being a little bit oversized. I’m wearing the same shorts in both outfits in different colors. I recommend going up a size in the shorts for the best fit.
