I had quite the creators block this week. I’m calling it creators block because I’m not a writer, but I couldn’t even begin to think about what to share in a style session. So many of you weighed in on my request for future style sessions Sunday and it was inspiring, but when I tried to start putting things together I was drawing a blank. However, one thing stuck out to me – a request to see things that are more affordable. I popped into Target and was immediately inspired.
Target always has really cute things, but they aren’t always all that petite-friendly. Their dresses in general of often too big, but I can get away with their tops, skirts, and shorts.
Target Spring Finds
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, around 105lbs. My bust, waist, and hip measurements are: 32″, 24″, 36″. I’m typically an XS, 00 at Target, but their clothes, in general, are a tiny bit big on me.
Denim Shorts + Striped Top
When it comes to shorts I have a few things that are important to me. First, my thighs are larger in proportion to the rest of my body, so it’s not always easy to find shorts that aren’t too tight on them – leg opening is important. Next, I can’t stand for a pair of shorts to ride up your butt – can’t stand it, won’t do it. Last, the length matters to me. I’m a mother of two little boys, so I’m looking for something that has a conservative length but isn’t so long it just makes me look shorter. THESE ARE THE SHORTS! They check off all the boxes, and they’re $15! I went up one size (to a 0) because I don’t like tight shorts, but not necessarily because they run small. They’re selling out quick so I recommend grabbing them now, even though it’s not quite shorts weather – it will be soon!
The top is comfortable, a little on the thin side and comes in a few spring colors! I was asked to style this a few ways so I’m hoping to put together a few outfits with it later this week. I’m wearing an XS.

T-Shirt
I picked up my favorite t-shirt in two new colors/prints. When it starts to warm up I get really into comfortable t-shirts. The boys and I are often trying to find something to do during the summer and stay on the go a lot so I prefer something simple and comfortable on my off days. I think you can easily spice up a t-shirt with your accessories, maybe add a little jewelry, tie a top around your waist, add a hat, etc. The top I have tied around my waist here is a simple long sleeve top that is a great spring layer. Not too heavy but it’s thick enough and large enough it can be worn on top of other things.

Mini Skirt + Sweater
Mini skirts are said to be trending this year so I just couldn’t help myself with this one. It fits true to size and I could see it as a fun date night outfit! I styled it two ways with a bright spring sweater (that also looks great with jeans) but also with a t-shirt and a denim jacket for a more dressed-down look.

After spending last week really uninspired, I have so many ideas bouncing through my head I’m not even sure where to start! This week I’ll be styling mom jeans with two other bloggers of different heights to show the same style a few ways. Plus, I’m working on petite friendly bathing suits, casual mom friendly style, maxi/midi length dresses (I’ve found SO many, can hardly pick favorites), and finally spring wear to work outfits.
