Christmas is cool, but I think Thanksgiving is my favorite. It could be the food, or it could be because it comes right before all of the Christmas excitement, but it’s a day I love. Full of family, food, and finished off with a little shopping with my girlfriends.
Thanksgiving Day Outfit
In true blogger fashion, I found it only fitting to blog about what I’ll be wearing on turkey day – but don’t worry, it’s nothing fancy. For a day spent cooking, and eating, I just want to be comfortable!
So, for me it’s simple – a pair of jeans, easy to slip on and off flats and a big cozy sweater. I also took these pictures right in my back yard, because well home is where I’ll be. Thanksgiving Day also happens to be one of my longest days, because well traditions! Here’s a little peek into our day.
Thanksgiving Traditions
We host Thanksgiving most years and I love it. We often eat later in the day so we have a fun breakfast or visit with family in the morning. This year, it will be a little different with us eating around mid-day and then going out to visit with family, so I’m thinking there will be plenty of food to go around and we can skip the breakfast.
Black Friday
When the eating is done, it’s out to the mall with my girlfriends. We have shopped till we drop on Black Friday for years and it’s one of my favorite traditions. It used to be that we would get up and get out by midnight, but the stores starting opening earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving, so we go then (don’t hate me).
We’re normally back home in the very early morning of Friday, so after I sleep for a few hours it’s up and after a Christmas tree! Last year our real tree ruined our wood floor, so we’re opting for a fake one this year. I ordered a pretty flocked one last week and I can’t wait to put it up on Friday!
