My nearly three year old has caught the shopping bug. It was only a matter of time. Nearly everyday he comes to me and says, “momma I wanna go to the store and pick out truck.” After a couple of recent trips to Target, the mommy haven, resulted in a new Paw Patrol truck for him, he has been let on to the joy of new things. Now, I’m not one to spoil but do you know how hard it is to say no that sweet pouty face? So, I have also found myself taking one too many trips to said store for him to pick out a truck.
The fun part is after our trips to the store we take his new collection of puppy patrolled vehicles to the park or the pool and roll them along the pathways citing lines from the show, “paw patrol is on a roll” or his favorites, “Rubble on the double!” and “Chase is on the case!” He has successfully pouted his little way into my heart several times over the last month and now owns the entire cast of characters. At least now I can confidently tell him there are no more trucks to buy, which he replies with an “awwwwwww” and we continue playing with the crew we have. Until, of course, he moves on to a new love.
There was a time when I thought he would only love Thomas the Train, of course at that time, he was unaware of the magical store that contained all of his favorites, so requests for new toys were few and far between. I every so often would bring him a new treasure and he would squeal with delight and play with his new friend all day long. I should have known that soon enough he would be just like his momma with fleeting interests and a love of shopping. like mother like son . I may be in trouble.
