I saw this top all over Instagram before grabbing one for myself. Target is pretty popular across the style blogger world, so if something is good, everyone seems to have it – this top being one of those things.
The thing is, I saw this top tucked and tied and cute as can be on several bloggers. I even saw it on a petite blogger and she had it tucked. Fast forward to it showing up in the mail at my house, and trying it on – only to find on my short self, this top is basically a tunic. I was only surprised because I had not seen the top untucked and didn’t realize that it was longer, but for me, it ended up being a nice surprise.
Three Ways to Wear a Tunic Top
Is this top technically a tunic? I don’t think so, but on a petite gal like me, it is. So, I decided to show three ways I would style this top on a petite frame.
Fit Notes
As promised in my last post, I’m going to share my measurements to help you pick the best sizing and fit. I’m 4’10”, and around 105lbs. My bust, waist and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. I’m wearing a x-small in this top. The arm holes do come down lower on this top so I would recommend wearing a cami underneath or a bandeau bra.
With White Denim
I love white denim pants, but I’ll be honest, I feel a little self conscious from behind. White pants aren’t forgiving at all, and then ya’ know, I’m always a little worried I’ll sit in something in white pants. So, I appreciate that this top covers my backside. I think this color combination looks great with leopard wedges. In the fall, (which tends to stay pretty warm here) you could swap the wedges for leopard flats.

With Shorts
I didn’t like the way this top looked tucked or tied on me, so I just let it be in each outfit. I think it looks great with shorts as long as the shorts are long enough to show. This is the same color combination as above, but it also looks great with regular denim shorts and sandals.

With Jeans and Sandals
When I polled my instagram followers about denim styles, non-distressed jeans won popular vote. Which honestly, I found surprising! I love the look of denim that isn’t distressed, but I see distressed jeans so often I just assumed they were the most popular. So, for this post I pulled out a pair of my non-distressed jeans from J.Crew. I love their petite length.

This top is breezy and really comfortable, I don’t think the pictures do it justice. If you’re short like me, be prepared for the tunic length, and embrace it!
