Valentine’s Day and night will look different this year of course, just like everything else. But, I know some of you are still celebrating, whether that’s at home or you’re going out – I had enough requests to see some date night outfit ideas, so I went with it!
When thinking about Valentine’s date night outfits in particular, I wanted to find some options that could be worn for the occasion, but also could be worn into the spring. I’m not one to buy things I can only wear once, so there isn’t anything in this post with hearts on it.
I also wanted to be sure it would be weather appropriate for different climates. It amazes me how far my blog and videos reach, but I hear from lovely ladies all over the world – some where it’s warm right now, and some where it’s frigid. I can’t always appeal to every climate, but I’ll do my best to show you girls some options.
So I ordered a few dresses that I could see being worn now, some warmed up with tights or maybe just boots, but also worn in warmer weather and into the spring.
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” around 107lbs. My bust, waist and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″.
Wear Now and Later Valentine’s Date Outfits
Floral Dress
Starting off with my favorite dress of the bunch – this H&M floral dress. It has a tie in the front and cute little buttons under the v-neck.
I prefer this dress with just booties and the denim jacket, but the cold weather where I am wouldn’t quite work with that right now.
So, I would more than likely wear this dress with tights and a moto jacket. You could also go with tights that are more sheer if you prefer a less black look. For more warmth you could add knee high boots.
If it’s really warm where you are (lucky) I could see a pair of wedges like this pair or a heeled sandal being really cute!

White Dress
Going in order of my personal favorites, this next dress works well now, if you’re someone that can be warm enough with just knee high boots, and it will also be really pretty in the spring! I bought this dress from Pink Lily Boutique. In the past I’ve ordered their dresses in size small, because it’s the smallest size, and they’ve still been too big. This dress, however, comes in x-small! So, I snatched it up and it’s a great fit! It is fully lined, and not see through.

Dotted Skirt
I own this Amazon skirt in two other colors also. While it is a on the thin side (nothing a little nude slip can’t fix) it’s a great length on me and is perfect for wearing now and later. I put up a poll on Instagram showing this outfit with just the turtleneck and boots, or the booties and a jacket, asking how you would wear it. It was an almost 50/50 split in responses. Both outfits are nearly identical, but basically the choice of boots can make for a warmer outfit if it’s super cold where you are.
Some of you even offered up other ways you would wear it – I had some suggestions of fun statement shoes and also some ideas about tights that were a little more sheer. I say you take any inspiration and make it your own girl – those are all great ideas, and style is truly individual!
Between the two, it’s a hard choice, but I think I actually prefer the first look. It’s less heavy on me and warmer. I appreciate that these knee high boots have a slim shaft, so they’re not too bulky.

Hot Pink Dress
Last, another H&M dress in XS. I chose the hot pink color for something a little festive, but this color doesn’t work as well with tights for warmth. The dress also comes in black, which would work better if you need tights. I could also see the black dress with a long line black blazer, sheer tights, booties or black pumps – would make for a great outfit. It also comes in XXS and if you’re the same size as me, I would recommend sizing down to that size. I’m wearing an XS and it’s a little big on me.
