What to Wear: NYE

With Christmas gone and New Year’s Eve fast approaching, are you scrambling to find something to wear?

If you’re anything like me, I was so consumed with Christmas, New Year’s was quite the afterthought. But, since the merry celebrations and gift giving are behind us, its time to find a sparkly ensemble to welcome 2014.

New Years calls for sparkle! Amongst the bubbly champagne and bright lights of the ball drop, your attire should match the occasion.

Are you heading out to a fancy club in the city, meeting for dinner and drinks or keeping it small at a house party with friends? A night on the town can handle a little more sparkle. Think full sequin dresses and bold matte lipstick, where a night with friends may be a little more casual.

Personally, we are doing a little bit of bouncing from house party to house party, so I will be sparkly, but subtly sparkly!

Here is a little inspiration for a shiny, yet conservative, New Year’s Eve ensemble.

Subtle Sparkle: NYE

White hot winter: NYE

As much as I would love to rock that white dress and gorgeous pumps, my winter pale skin and freezing temperatures here wouldn’t make that much fun! My choice will probably be along the lines of the first set, with a sweet skater skirt and subtle sparkle on the collar of the blouse. With tights and booties, you’ll be sure to be classy and warm!

So, there you have it, starting the night like a lady…ending the night… probably a one too many glasses of wine, not so lady like hot mess. How are you spending your new year’s eve?
