I’m taking two classics today, dark wash straight jeans and a white button-down, and creating four outfits.

Four Ways to Wear Dark Wash Jeans with a White Button-Down

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

There are many one base, multiple outfit posts floating around the internet, all built on layering. For my version of this post I chose classic dark wash straight jeans and a slim fit white-button down. I chose my current favorite straight jeans from Quince for my bottoms and a classic fit white button-down from J.Crew for the top. With a Sweater Over The Shoulders

I’m still loving a chunky sweater worn over the shoulders. You can wear this with your top tucked in or worn untucked and relaxed like I did here.

With a Blazer

In this outfit I chose a lightweight blazer in a spring ready sage green. The blazer is overall true to size, but the sleeves are a little bit too long for me so I’ll be wearing this one with the sleeves pushed back (or of course, they can be tailored).

With a Trench Coat

I added a cropped sweater, trench coat, and sneakers for a smart casual outfit!

With a Cardigan

This cardigan has a cropped length which makes it perfect for wearing buttoned over a button-down. I left the bottom button undone so it wouldn’t cinch in too tight on the top.
