I probably call too many things “my favorite”. But, this gauze top is definitely one of my favorite things for spring and summer. I bought mine last summer (or maybe even the summer before, I can’t remember) and wore it at least once a week. It’s so versatile and the light gauzy texture makes it less fussy than a traditional white button-down. You can wear it with a little texture and wrinkle, plus it’s light and breezy for warm weather. The one I’m wearing in this post is from J.Crew (in 00), but there is a similar option at Target that I’ve also tried. It’s also great, just has a more oversized it than the J.Crew option.

White Gauze Top Four Ways
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Tucked In
I love this top tucked in with a pair of high-waisted shorts or jeans. The jeans fit me well in 24 short. They’re rigid and have an ultra-high rise. The sandals are from Target and I can already tell will be a pair I wear often this summer. The straps are comfortable right from the store and my foot slides easily in and out of the sandals. I also love that the straps are thin and keep a low profile. I appreciate a chunky slide sandal as well, but a style like this looks best with jeans and pants that come to the ankle.

Worn Open
I wear this top the most just like this – worn open over another top. I often wear slim tank tops like this one, but in this outfit, I’m wearing a simple white t-shirt from Target. The top runs a little large on me in XS. The shorts are also from Target and fit true to size. They have a high rise and an on-trend fit (but they ride up when you’re walking).

With a Dress
This is a great way to re-wear the top and the dress! In case you missed my other posts that included fit notes on this dress I’ll give them here as well. The dress fits true to size, I’m wearing it in XXS. It’s fully lined, comfortable, and has pockets! I highly recommend it.

Over a Swimsuit
This top also makes a great swim coverup. I wear it with shorts going to and from the pool and beach. I sized up in the swimsuit to XS. It has removable straps, padding at the chest, and a shelf bra. It also has full coverage in the back.
