Petite-Friendly Wide-Leg Jeans
Sizing Reference: I’m 4’10” and around 105lbs. I share my sizing beside each link to help you choose the best size for you online.
One trend this season is an oversized outfit. Petites have been rocking that trend for years – am I right?! All jokes aside, although an oversized top and bottom combo are trending, I’m still going to be creating outfits with balance. Since wide-leg jeans are bigger on the bottom, I like to opt for a top that’s slim fitting and either hits at the waist or is tucked in at the waist. Also, I think these jeans will look best with a pair of heels or heeled booties come fall on someone who is petite, but that’s just my personal opinion.
Full-Length
My top pick for full-length wide-leg jeans is from Abercrombie. The High Rise 90s Relaxed Jeans come in several length options and are rigid. The fit in the back is perfect, they’re slim fitting through the back and top of the thighs so it doesn’t make you look wider than you are. I’m wearing them in short in the picture, which works great with a heel (and works well for a leg-lengthening effect) but they also come in extra-short if you want to wear them with flat shoes. They’re true to size, for me, that’s 24 Short.

Full-Length
Another option for a full-length pair is this pair from AG that I picked up from the Nordstrom Sale. This pair isn’t petite, they’re regular length and are meant to be cropped, but they just happen to be the perfect full-length on my 4’10” height. This pair can be worn with flats as well. I am wearing this pair in my true size (24) but they are snug in the waist. Although they will stretch with wear, you may want to size up for a more comfortable fit.

Cropped Wide-Leg
If you’re looking for a cropped wide-leg, this pair from Banana Republic Factory is a great choice. I’m wearing white here, but they come in several colors. The denim is a good weight and is rigid with stretch. I paired them with a slightly cropped top here, which is a little out of my comfort zone, but I do love the way they look together! You can get a similar look with this one-shoulder top that’s long enough to tuck in. The jeans are true to size, for me, that’s 24 Petite.

Slim Wide-Leg
Last, if you want to try wide-leg jeans but aren’t quite ready to jump fully in, this slim wide-leg may be for you. The leg on these is almost so slim you could consider these straight-leg jeans. They have a cropped fit as well and fit true to size.
