Baggy and wide-leg jeans can be worn cropped or full-length. Because of the volume of the pants, I recommend keeping your shoes slim and a low contrast between your shoes and jeans (or legs with a cropped style). For this post, I’ll be using full-length, wide-leg jeans.

Petite Jeans Series: Wide-Leg Jeans Shoe Pairings
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Styling is all a matter of opinion and what you feel best in. I don’t love to give out fashion tips because opinions vary so take these tips with a grain of salt. They’re not rules that need to be followed but suggestions that have worked for me and may work for you as well.
What Shoes Can You Pair With Baggy Jeans When You’re Petite?
Wide-leg and baggy jeans add volume and width to your lower half. Someone tall can pull them off with different shoes because they have that extra leg length, but if you’re petite (and especially if you’re wide through the hips like me), you’ll want to bring balance to the outfit by keeping your shoes slim in profile and avoiding stark contrast between your shoes and jeans (creating a visual break at the feet).
Keep it Light and Slim
To make my legs look slightly longer and well-proportioned, I’m always thinking about keeping my shoes light. What I mean by light is thin, light/neutral in color, with a narrow profile, often with a pointed or elongated toe. Some examples of shoes with a thin profile are ballet flats, slim sneakers like Converse or Adidas Sambas, and pointed or elongated-toe boots. Heels are an obvious, easy pairing.
Avoid Chunky and Platform Shoes
I personally avoid chunky and platform styles with wide-leg jeans. However, I see them styled this way often, so it’s not a styling rule. Chunky and platform styles can work well, but if you’re petite, they can look heavy and unbalanced. The exception to this is possibly a platform heel since they’ll give you the extra height you need.
Keep it Low Contrast
Keeping low contrast between your jeans and shoes (or legs and shoes) is an old trick for elongating your legs. If my jeans are a light wash, I tend to pair them with light shoes to avoid a heavy contrast. If I want to wear darker shoes, I wear them with darker jeans.
Here are a few examples of shoes I like to wear with wide-leg jeans:
Jeans 24 Extra Short | Top XXS | Shoes tts | Necklace
Jeans 24 Extra Short | T-Shirt XS | Sweatshirt Petite XS | Shoes size down 1/2 size
Jeans 24 Extra Short | Top XXS | Sandals
