For the last post in the Winter Outfits for Work Series I gathered two of my most worn and styled skirts and a versatile sweater dress that can be worn many ways to work this winter.

Winter Outfits for Work: w/ Skirts & Dresses

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Pleated Skirt

I chose the Twirl Skirt from Aritzia for the post, but this one from Amazon is a less expensive option I love as well. The Twirl Skirt has a slim profile and swings beautifully when you walk. It’s fully lined with a sheer overlay. I sized up in this skirt to XS for a comfortable fit. Whenever someone asks for me for advice on starting a workwear wardrobe, I like to recommend grabbing things that are versatile like a skirt over a dress. This basic black skirt can be worn monochromatically for the look of a dress, but it can also be mixed with many tops through all seasons. I also included a silk skirt, but if I was picking just one, I would choose this pleated skirt. Simply because I can wear this one without shape wear and it doesn’t wrinkle as easily as the silk skirt so it’s less fussy. I plan to include this skirt in the winter workwear capsule.

Silk Skirt

I plan to post another post soon with multiple ways to style this silk skirt. In the meantime, here is one with a blazer and knee-high boots. I always wear this skirt with shape wear and if I tuck the top in, I tuck it into the shorts. On an aside, as much as I would love to wear the trendy maxi style of this skirt, I’ve yet to find one that fits me. So, I work with what I can find!

Maxi Sweater Dress

I love the shape of this dress! It’s a close fit, but not totally body con and has a slightly flared skirt. It’s thick and warm and looks great with knee-high boots. You could also wear this one with a blazer!
