Work to Weekend Outfits

I was recently reintroduced to White House Black Market and was reminded of their excellent petite selection. In today’s post I’m sharing a few work to weekend outfits that all have a great petite fit from White House Black Market.

Monochromatic Navy

There is a lot to love about this monochromatic navy outfit. First, the pants. They have a perfect fit and the fabric is lightweight and summer-ready. They’re also stretchy, so they’re very comfortable, and the fabric isn’t wrinkle prone. I’m wearing them in my true size and they fit well, but I think I could also size up and find a comfortable fit. I paired it with a satin boatneck top. The top has a slightly oversized fit on me in XXS, but I love the beautiful drape. It is open at the sleeves, but the wide set still gives arm coverage. This top drapes a little bit past my bra line, so I suggest wearing a nude camisole underneath. For my weekend swap I kept the same top and added in a pair of trouser jeans. The jeans are off-white with contrasting stitching. The jeans also have pleats and slash pockets on the back for a unique and polished style. They come with a fabric belt but I swapped the belt and paired it with matching chunky sandals. The sandals start at a size 5 and are true to size.

Matching Set

My favorite piece of the matching sets below is the jacket. I think it’s a perfect fit. There is light padding at the shoulders for structure and the sleeves are a great length. The fabric is light so it’s summer-ready. The matching pants are true to size and have a 29.5″ inseam in petite, which is a length I need a significant high heel to wear. I’ll also note that while I love the pants they are sheer – so if you love them too, be prepared to wear nude undergarments. The matching skort is stretchy and has a 4″ inseam. It is also sheer like the pants. I’m wearing the skort in petite 00, but I think I could size up for a more comfortable fit. I wore both outfits with a double lined t-shirt. Since it’s double lined it’s not see through and is a great workwear staple.

Monochromatic Red

In my wear to work outfit I chose a bold monochromatic red outfit with wide-leg trousers. The trousers are are high rise with a single pleat. The fabric is lightweight, so it’s perfect for summer. In petite they have a 28.5″ inseam. I paired it with a double lined t-shirt that is a great staple for your workwear. The top is slightly compressive so if you want a little bit of extra room, I suggest a size up. For my weekend swap, I kept the same double lined top and paired it with printed shorts. The shorts have a classy 4.5″ inseam and bold red floral print on an ivory base. They’re true to size, I’m wearing them in 00 for reference.
