Fall Little Black Dress
Funny thing is, I almost returned this dress. Remember my recent buys and returns post? This dress was on my return list. I tried it on when I was having a particularly blah day and felt equally blah in the dress. However, thanks to my sometimes procrastination, the package sat in my house waiting to be returned. When I was getting dressed for work on Friday, I was struggling with what to wear and decided to pull the dress back out. Let’s just say, the dress and I had a better day. I decided to keep it.
How To Wear A Little Black Dress in Fall
I wore it to work with a pair of basic flats, but for a fun weekend look, I added this floppy hat, a kimono and block heels! I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve worn both a kimono and a floppy hat. I mean, I may have worn a kimono once a few years ago, but being petite, I tend to feel overwhelmed in kimonos. I first tried this kimono on with jeans and felt very overwhelmed, it made me feel shorter. However, with the dress and a little leg and height from the heels, I love it! The kimono was gifted to me by Rock Flower Paper, and they show so many fun ways to wear it on their site! You can take 15% off with the code PUMPS15.
I recently purchased the heels after seeing them on Blaire of Peaches in a Pod! These were final sale, so they were a gamble, but it paid off! I bought a size 5 and they fit me perfectly! So, I would say they run a tad small, since I am typically a 4.5. I hope I get more opportunities to wear them with fall dresses before it gets too cool! So, shout out to Blaire for sharing them!
So the take away from this post, try something on twice before returning, you may love it the second time around!

Love this outfit! I can’t really wear jeans to work anymore (I could at my last school, but no go here!) and I often think that kimonos look best with jeans. I will have to try with one of my dresses because I loved how this turned out! The hat is adorable on you too!

I love a dress and kimono together, and this is a great example of it! I wore a dress and kimono just last week actually, haha! I definitely need to be wary with kimonos so they don’t make me look shorter than I already am, but the ones I have now are perfect π
Glad you kept the dress – it’s a great basic! π
Thank you for the link up!
Hope you are having a lovely week.

Aw thank you Ruth! The kimono was so different for me, I was worried I couldn’t pull it off!
Thank you so much Jacqui!
I don’t mind sharing at all! We’ve really been trying hard to get better. My hubby takes them all! These photos were taken with a canon 50mm 1.8. I love that lens for close up, but it blurs a little when you try and take a full outfit shot. We use the canon efs 18-135mm the most, it came with the canon 80d. I recently started using the VSCO filters for Lightroom and it’s made for prettier pictures, really gives the pictures deeper colors!
Thank you Valerie!
Thanks tori!
