It never hurts to go back to a classic color combination like yellow and navy blue.

Navy & Yellow Fall Outfit

Yellow and Navy Fall Outfit

When I first spotted this navy and white striped peplum top on Mint Julep’s website, it was love. I have a thing for peplums. I ordered a small, which was the smallest size. However, y’all know that sizing is a gamble for me and this top was just a little bit too big for me. Since I’m used to things not always being the perfect fit, one of my ways to wear things that are a little big, is by layering! I bought this yellow boyfriend cardigan from Target last year and it’s still going strong. I threw it on top of the peplum to bring it in a little. The peplum top is really a gorgeous top. It is soft and silky, really a great fabric. I wish it was a tad smaller! I am typically an xs, so I wouldn’t say it runs big, it’s true to size. I wore my new block heels with it, but I also love my metallic flats with this one or my classic riding boots. I find that even though ankle and over the knee boots are trending at the moment, my favorites are my classic riding boots. They’re comfortable and are the most flattering on my frame!

Life Lately

Life has been pretty busy lately! All good things but, busy. I’m finding that motherhood is all about seasons. All I use to know about motherhood was the toddler and preschool phase, but now I’m getting a taste of having a child in school and mixing that with after school activities. All of the events/homework, etc. is a lot to juggle! I know all of you seasoned mothers out there know what I’m talking about. I’m sure you could even shed some light on what is to come! We went to our first boy scouts camp out recently. Since our guy is just a kindergartener we weren’t able to actually camp out with the older boys, but we had fun joining in on the daytime activities; shooting off rockets and making all kinds of fun crafts! We’ve also been busy making plans for his sixth birthday party. This will be our first birthday with actual school friends, and I’m feeling kind of nervous, is that silly?! Since I will be meeting these new friends and their families for the first time, I’m hoping everything goes well! We’re also hoping to find time to partake in all of the fun fall activities, pumpkin and apple picking!

Wherever our fall activities take us, a classic, comfortable combination like this one is more than likely what I’ll be wearing! What have you been up to lately?
