they’ll probably feed a giraffe or two.
They’ll learn just what it feels like to have sticky tongues on their tiny hands-
and that a Meerkat is being the lookout, when it stands.
They’ll watch the funny monkeys swinging from branch to branch-
and laugh at the penguins, doing a little dance.
They’ll learn that Peacocks do in fact fly, high enough to get in the trees-
and that most of us humans can only jump about as far, as fleas.
They may not remember all of the details years from now —
but, if you take a child to the zoo, they’re going to have so much fun with you.
**Except don’t go when it’s 90 degrees outside and melt, like we did! Where have you been adventuring to lately?

Loved visiting the zoo as a kid! Looks like so much fun. It is so hot though. I confess to hiding indoors.

We have season passes to the zoo and it’s always a treat to go there. It seems I only go there when it’s super hot so we always need to get ice cream.
Thank you for hosting and hope you are having a fab week!

This was such a cute post! I loved the pictures and little poem π We haven’t yet made it to the zoo this summer. I keep waiting for a cooler day and it hasn’t happened–it’s been super hot here too!
Such a cute post! Now that my boys are two, I should take them to the zoo, I bet they’d love it!

Cute pictures! It looks like y’all had fun at the zoo!
My daughter went on a school trip to the zoo recently. She was so excited beforehand but when I collected her she seemed really deflated – she hadn’t realised there would be a fair amount of walking involved. I’m not sure what she was expecting! π

That is a downfall, I ended up having to carry my kids most of the time! I was worn out, lol.
We did!
Thanks girl!
Me too! All those cute animals make you smile. π
Thanks girl!
Summer is meant for ice cream!! π
They would!!! π
I feel you! It was too hot the day we went, I wish we had saved it for a cooler day, but we still had a lot of fun.
Aw thank you!!
Every now and then I try to get crafty, haha! Thanks girl. π
Thanks Amy!
The heat is definitely too much to handle this time of year, we had to rush a little because it was so hot.
That is so fun!! We have a really beautiful botanical garden in our area that I would love to get passes to.
I don’t blame you!!! It’s hot to begin with, but being pregnant in the heat is no joke! I remember when I was pregnant during the summer I hid inside all the time lol.
Ugh yes! The heat was terrible, but it was still fun! π
I will definitely be checking it out! π
So fun!! I love to watch them learn and explore.
Aw thank Jill!
Thanks girl!! I tried!
I can only imagine! I better get all my fun outing in while I can, the teens are on their way! haha!
Thanks Sheree!
Me too! π
