In my last semester of college, my Mimi bought me my first “big girl” blazer. It was a classic black blazer from Banana Republic and it fit me perfectly. Every time I put it on, I felt polished and professional – I loved it.
Nine years later, I still have that classic black blazer in my closet, as well as several new friends. That blazer taught me the importance of wearing a blazer with a good fit, and that blazers aren’t only meant to be dressed up, they look great with jeans too.

Camel + Black
I wore this exact outfit to work last week, it was perfect for the season. The blazer added a little warmth in the morning, and I was able to wear just the sleeveless top in the warm afternoon. Instead of going with a black blazer, I liked that the camel blazer tied in all of the colors on my shoes.

With Jeans
I wear blazers with jeans more than I wear them with anything else. They tend to dress up the outfit, but I think the longer cut of the Parke blazer from J.Crew still keeps this outfit relaxed.

With Mom Jeans
More jeans, just in a different style! Instead of rolling my sleeves here, I tucked them under at the buttons. The lining of this blazer is ticking stripe and I feel like it clashed with the snakeskin on my shoes, so the tuck under looked better to me.

Glen Plaid + Mom Jeans
Same basics on the bottom in this outfit, just swapped the shoes and jacket to make a different outfit. I also think this would look great (maybe even better) with black or white mules instead of the heels.

Glen Plaid + Yellow
I have had a few requests in particular to style Glen Plaid or plaid in general, so I was sure to include this blazer in most of the outfits for this post. I’m used to seeing this print paired with white or black, which looks great – but it also works well with complimentary colors, like yellow and red.
