I’m not typically a super trendy girl. I tend to pick classic pieces, that will last me through the trends and the years. While I love to pick items that I know will look good on me, I also have a tendency to never step out of my box, and wear the same styles over and over again. So, I decided it was time to be a little more adventurous. Bell sleeves aren’t a new trend, they’ve been around for some time, and to many, aren’t adventurous. Being short and a little bit stocky, anything that added weight to the top of me, just seemed like a bad idea, so bell sleeves weren’t something I wanted to try. But, the more I saw beautiful bell sleeves on my blogger friends, the more I wanted to give them a try. I’m glad I did.
Despite the fact that my husband feels that this shirt looks like it is backwards and also a hospital gown, I love it! He is convinced I will be asked multiple times if my shirt if backwards. Pshhhhh, I love him to death, but I choose not to take my fashion advice from someone who wears t-shirts on repeat all week, love ya coo, mean it!. I’m wearing this cutie with jeans, skirts and shorts, all the while, getting my bell sleeve dance on.
So, after this successful trendy purchase, I decided to partake in another little hot cake, the Marc Fisher wedges, that everyone is dying over. I went back and forth on the purchase until I saw how quickly they were selling out. So, I went over to Zappos and clicked my little heart out. Then, patiently waited for their arrival. Luckily with Zappos that was like the next day, woo! Anyway, when they came in, I was so excited, only to find they were an absolute fail on me. They were comfortable for sure, and they look gorgeous on so many of the women I’ve seen wearing them, but on me, they just added weight to my already short legs. So, back they went. Now, I’m just waiting on these Jeffrey Campbell wedges to arrive in the mail. Here’s to hoping they work out!
What trend have you been trying/loving lately? Any of them not work so well for you?

No way is anyone going to mistake you for wearing a hospital gown! If hospital gowns had bell sleeves maybe, but then we’d all be wearing them! Ha! Love the outfit 🙂
Love that it’s more of a subtle bell sleeve, I’m not super trendy either so this is a great option for this trend! Looking super cute as always!

Beautiful Bell Sleeve Babe!! I’m with you on shoes, you see them on all the bloggers and then I’m bummed when they don’t work. I am here to tell you, I have one pair that I only wear for blog pics, can’t walk in them more than 5 minutes, lol. You’re a doll and so happy to have you come link up your cuteness!!
I love how this is both classic and trendy – the perfect piece! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

NEW POST: TULLE SKIRT & MESSY BUN, IN PARIS
Love the top! I suffer the short chunky girl problems too. I see outfits and clothing on ladies all the time that I like and then I take a step back and realize they are over 5’5″ or 5″6″ or taller and more slender than me so what they are wearing will not work on me. ugh!
That top is the perfect mix of classic and trendy! So cute!

Short girl problems. I love the lace up shoe trend, but my short stubby legs don’t like them :-). The shirt looks great in you!!! And the buttons in the back make it look cute!!!
You tell your husband that this is fabulous!! It reminds me of the post we did not so long ago where we wore our cardigans backwards (on purpose!!).
I love the bell sleeves too, Brooke!! It’s nice to have some fun in our shirts!!

I like your new top and wonder if you have tried in on backwards… oh and I just tried the long sleeve bell look (just linked it) and they looked good but got in the way all day long.
I love the sleeves! What a cute detail!

I love this shirt and think it looks amazing on you! I like that it’s kind of a classic oxford type material with the more fashion forward sleeves. I bet you will get a lot of use out of it.

LOL! Husbands are so funny when they give us fashion advice. I think the top is so cute! I haven’t fallen on the bell sleeve trend because the sleeves would just drive me nuts, plus I have heavy arms and I just think they’d make my arms look bigger. I love them on everyone else though, including you!
Those bell sleeves are adorable! I love the button detail in the back too. Husbands are so funny sometimes!
This is just so, so cute on you! Too funny about your husband’s thoughts on this adorable top. 🙂
Girlfriend! You are so not stocky! You have an athletic build, and that is gorgeous! I love the bell sleeves on you – I think they add a beautiful balance.
Hahaaa the things our husbands say about our fashion choices. I love it.
Don’t forget to add your link to the new link-up! <3<3
