Then I gave Lulu’s a chance. I remember the first time I stumbled upon Lulu’s, years ago, after it was mentioned by a blogger. I was an avid blog reader, but not quite a blogger. I loved bloggers, they introduced me to so many new retailers and styles. Back in those days I was a big fan of Chloe of The Chloe Conspiracy and Veronika of Veronika’s Blushing, I still am! They were on my Google Reader and I never missed a post. What I loved about their blogs then and still love now, is both ladies were real and shared attainable fashion. Their photos were just taken in their living room or in a mirror, they weren’t super posed, but they showed off cute clothes and I felt like I could relate to them. Blogging has changed a lot from those early days, sometimes I miss those living room photos. I remember when I read those blogs years ago, I never thought I could be like them, I didn’t think I had enough style, and definitely didn’t think I was photogenic enough. Here I am years later…a blogger. Funny how things change.

Coral Off The Shoulder Dress
But, back to the dress. I knew ordering from a boutique style store was a gamble. Boutique clothes often run large on me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. As back up, I ordered a few other dresses. When the dress came in, I was pleasantly surprised. The dress wasn’t too long on me, it was soft and well made. Sometimes quality is an issue with boutique clothes. Lulu’s has grown to carry their own line, in addition to other brands. This dress was from their line and I was impressed! When Erica and I took a swing at running a boutique, we just couldn’t get over how poor the quality was on the some of the things we ordered. From a wholesale standpoint, they weren’t cheap either, which explains why a lot of boutiques aren’t necessarily Old Navy prices. One of the reasons we ended up not pursuing the boutique, but it was a fun learning experience!
I’ve linked other coral dresses I found along the way. These dresses didn’t work for me because of the sizing, but I would have loved to give them a try!
We’re heading out on Friday for the Bachelorette weekend we’ve been planning for months! I can’t wait to see Folly Beach and Charleston, and can’t wait to celebrate with my long time bestie! Finally, in a pretty coral dress.

What a great dress for a bachelorette Party! I love that there was a dress code, even though it was a challenge to find the perfect dress. It looks amazing on you! I love Lulu’s, they have so many cute things.

This picture totally caught my eye on Instagram I absolutely love the dress! It looks so comfy and love the pop of color π
Good call on this dress, Brooke! While I do love the coral linen dress you featured last time, I do understand your concerns about it getting extra crinkly. You look gorgeous in this!

That dress looks fantastic on you! Perfect shade of coral. And that wall is super cool. I know what you men about the way blogging used to be! I kind of miss the days when blogging wasn’t so… I don’t know, professional? Elaborate? I have been blogging for 7 years and it is SO different. Oh well!

I totally agree!! I’ve only been blogging for four years, by the time I got into it, it had already changed. I loved the early days (from a reader point of view)!
I have never had coral as a dress code for a party but you nailed it. It is such a light shade of peach that it looks almost one with the nude shoes. BTW I still follow and love Veronika’s blushing. I mostly follow her on Instagram though. Love her stories. She is super sweet and always replies back!
BTW, love also your coral dress finds. So many off shoulder, one-shoulder and cold shoulder options!
Looks like you found a winner! It’s adorable on you!
A great find indeed, you look stellar Brooke !
You look beautiful! I love the off the shoulder and you look just gorgeous in it. And what a fun wall to take pictures in front of!

Such a gorgeous shade of coral! You are going to LOVE Charleston. We stayed on Folly Beach for my girlfriend’s bachelorette get away last fall. I had the BEST time of my life in downtown Charleston that trip.

This dress looks great on you and I love that fun colored wall! I feel the same way a lot of time too when it comes to blogging. I love all of the pretty pics now and of course they are more visually appealing, but a good selfie in your own element says a lot.

Cute story! Glad you finally found the perfect dress. Love the backdrop you chose too. Certainly more interesting than pictures from the living room, like back in the old blogging days!
