The Folly Beach Bachelorette came and went in a blink! We spent months planning (and I spent months agonizing over leaving my babes). In the end, it was a successful, unforgettable weekend celebrating my bestie!
I feel like we’ve been planning a bachelorette party for ten years. Ashley (who I call Dabney) and I have been friends since our senior year in high school. We met in computer math, cheated off each other, and have been friends ever since. She was with me on my wedding day and ever since then, we’ve been anxiously waiting for her day to come. Last May, she went on a cruise with her boyfriend, where he proposed! She sent me the picture of that ring and I cried! Finally, her day was coming. When we started planning the Bachelorette party, she wanted a beach weekend, with only her bridesmaids. None of us had visited Charleston or Folly Beach in the past, so we decided to take on a new place for our girls weekend away.
We had to do all of the basic bachelorette things, you know, wear matching shirts and carry around matching cups. I ended up ordering monogrammed shirts from Marley Lilly, that way we all matched, but we could wear the shirts again! We had a little photoshoot on the beach and jumped 1000 times to get one picture of us jumping. It was worth it.
Where To Stay In Folly Beach
We rented a house through Homeaway, that was seriously the best rental house I think I’ve ever stayed in. Not the grandest, but the owners thought of everything. They left us all of the necessities like toilet paper and paper towels, and gave us plenty of extra towels. In the past when I’ve rented a beach house, it was expected the renter bring all linens and paper products. Not the case here! I highly recommend this home if you’re thinking of visiting Folly Beach. It was right across the street from the beach! They also let us rent the home from Friday – Monday, which is almost unheard of in the summer season.
What To Do
I should really title this, what we did. There is so much to do in Folly Beach and Charleston, but we really kept it fairly low key. We spent time on the beach and mostly ate at the house. At night, we went out to a few local bars.
Folly Beach Night Out
The first night in Folly Beach, we went to Center Street. I was surprised to find that there were several bars, packed to the gills. I expected a quieter night scene from the looks of Folly, but it was the opposite. We stopped at a couple different places before settling on Snapper Jacks. There was a great DJ and plenty of dancing!
Charleston Night Out
I didn’t know what to expect from Charleston. From pictures, it looked gorgeous and everything I read about it, led me to believe it was a classy town. All of that came to be true. We started out with burgers at Hom, they were delicious! Hom was recommended to us by our taxi driver, he became our friend/tour guide for the weekend.
Then we went to Stars rooftop bar. It was gorgeous, but packed! We were lucky to snag a table and take in the beautiful views. Everyone there was extremely well dressed, I felt like I was in a sea of bloggers and wanted one of each of the dresses I saw worn that night. Sadly, we didn’t take any pictures, too busy having fun!
We ended up at Trio. Trio is multilevel and it was packed that night. From the looks of it, I’m sure it stays packed. The music was great, which made for some fun dancing!
Charleston
Our last night there, we took out the minivan for a cruise around Charleston. That mom life, cruising the streets with your girls, in a minivan. I really wanted to see more of Charleston, but it rained the last day, which killed our chance at a carriage tour. We were able to walk around a little before dark. The little bit I saw, was truly beautiful! I had to facetime to the hubby to show him our future home. π
Now, it’s on to the bridal shower and the wedding, I’m so excited for Dabney!

What a wonderful weekend and I am sure that she appreciated all your hard work. Especially the stressing about leaving the babies! I hear you on that! Charleston is where Blaire and I go to have a girls weekend, but we’ve never been to Folly beach. It’s on the list of things to do next time, for sure!
