Whenever I get something new, I’m also so afraid of washing it. Do you ever feel like the washing machine is where your clothes go to die? I know I do. Now, I’m not one to run around with dirty clothes, so I have a few tips and tricks for ensuring your clothes stay vibrant and stain free wear after wear, wash after wash.
How To Get The Most Out of Your Winter Wardrobe
Y’all remember when I wrote a post about the new shirts I shrank after hand washing? I read the tag, it said dry clean only, I ignored it and got them wet anyway, they shrunk. You were all so sweet to share a few tricks I could try to get the tops back to their original size, but sadly, neither top recovered. That little mishap, was the final straw in laundry ruining for me. Instead of thinking I know what’s best for my clothes because of whatever material they’re made out of, I always read the tag and LISTEN.
If the top says hand-wash I do it. Delicate cycle? You got it! Most clothes come with the perfect instructions that will keep them looking great, if you follow them, you’ll get the most out of them.
What you wash your laundry with, is just as important as how you wash it, for a premium clean. Have you ever tried Persil® ProClean® laundry detergent? I recently gave it a try with a six wash trial size bottle that I picked up at Target®.
Although I tend to buy the same laundry detergent year after year, I figured, why not try something new? It only took one load of laundry for me to love it. Persil laundry detergent is a stain fighting, whitening, and brightening detergent that delivers 10 Dimensions of Clean for a premium clean you can see, smell, and feel (stain fighting, whitening, brightening, anti graying, clean rinsing, long lasting freshness, odor fighting, cold water cleaning, clean fresh scent, fiber care). The trial size, washes six loads and, I wanted to make my six loads count, so I washed one of each type of load I do: whites, colors, towels, sheets, couch covers and hand washables.Persil laundry detergent, delivered on its promises. No matter what I washed I noticed immediately that my clothes smelled amazing. My whites were really bright, that striped ponte top I can’t stop wearing, was starting to gray just a bit, but after one wash it is white as can be.
My white couch covers too, the boys drew on them with crayon, which was pretty tragic, but I presoaked them in Persil laundry detergent for a few hours and the crayon was gone after the wash! I wash my colors in cold water, and even with that, they smelled amazing and looked fresh. Every load, was pretty much a win, that had me hooked.
I’m impressed enough after trying it to include it in a few gifts, because new clothes and a way to keep them looking new, is a pretty good gift if you ask me. The trial size is $1.99 for the 10.1-ounce package at Target® and if you love it after six loads, there is a $2.00 coupon on the back of the bottle toward your future purchase. I should also mention that Persil can be used in all washing machines, including HE, so no need to worry about what kind of machine they have.
Wash When Needed
When you need to wash, Persil laundry detergent is great, but I’m going to admit, I don’t wash certain things every single time. The best part about Persil laundry detergent, is I felt my clothes were clean, making it easier to skip a wash. I don’t spend my days doing a lot of sweating or digging in the dirt, so for the most part, my clothes stay relatively clean. I’ll skip the wash for a couple of wears and freshen them with a little tumble in the dryer. The less washing, the less opportunities to fade. I always hang my clothes after wearing them if I intend to wear them without a wash, tossing them in a dirty clothes pile is just asking for them to get stinky and will defeat the purpose.
Take Extra Care Of Your Clothes
So, whether you’re gifting yourself with a few new wardrobe pieces (or just trying to get more wear of what you already have) take extra care in the laundry room, you’ll be sure to help your beautiful winter wardrobe last!

I never think about the detergent I use, I just grab whatevers on sale. However this post definitely makes me think I should pay more attention to the soap I’m using.

I need to try this and I do think the washing machine is the place where some clothes die but it’s my fault. After damaging some clothes due to neglect (not reading tags) I have learned my lesson to be better about laundry. It’s hard to find clothes that I really like or that fits so keeping them looking good is top priority.
