The most requested topic of the month is back-to-school outfits for teachers! I’ve rounded up a few outfits for you today, but don’t worry I plan to write a lot more about this topic with a capsule wardrobe over the next month. I’m still looking for those perfect pieces to make that post complete.
I’m not a teacher, so I’m hoping I get this post right. I took feedback from a few of you on what you look for in an outfit for school and I am keeping those things in mind! Some of the most important points were affordability, comfortable flat shoes, and outfits you can easily move around in.
One Week of Back-To-School Outfits for Teachers
This first round is predominately comfortable dresses. I would recommend a pair of bike shorts underneath the shorter two if you need to get up and down a lot and don’t want to worry about any peep shows! I also included a simple pair of jeans and comfy chino pants that have a great length for Petites.
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and around 105lbs.
Monday
These straight-leg chino pants from LOFT come in a few different colors and are comfortable enough to move around in. I’m wearing them here with sandals and would pair them with flats in the fall. For the hot summer days that start the school year for most of us, a sleeveless top would be comfortable, but it also looks great with a denim jacket on top.

Tuesday
This dress is so roomy and comfortable, moving around throughout the day will be a breeze! It’s nice and long too so if you’re someone who needs to sit on the ground or bend over to talk to littles you won’t need to worry about your dress being too short. It also looks great with comfortable flat sandals. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS.

Wednesday
Another breezy dress that will work well into the fall with a pair of booties. I love the bright orange color of this dress and the fabric is light and gauzy. To note, on the website this dress looks like a burnt orange/red but it’s definitely a bright orange. I’m wearing this one in Petite XXS.

Thursday
This dress is also roomy and comfortable and the fabric doesn’t wrinkle easily. Perfect for a day of moving around a lot! I paired it with comfortable loafers, but it would look great with sandals or sneakers too. A note on the loafers, if you’re looking for a pair that you can walk in all day, these are it!

Friday
I’m hoping my teacher friends can wear jeans with this outfit! I picked an affordable pair of skinny jeans from AE that don’t have any distressing – so they’re still professional. The top I’m wearing is from J.Crew Factory and comes in petite so it fits well and doesn’t have any gaping in the armholes. It also comes in black if you don’t love green. If you want to dress this one up a bit, I would add the sweater blazer from J.Crew Factory on top!

Teachers are the real MVP and deserve all the credit! Last year with my boys in virtual school, I saw firsthand just how hard they work and can’t thank them enough for the amount of time and effort they put into my children. Here’s to a great school year this year!
In addition to teachers, I’ve had several requests for work outfits that are more casual than my past posts, so I’ll be working on that too!
