Petite jeans and pants for work are a common topic on my blog, but petite-friendly casual pants haven’t had their moment in the spotlight, until today. Surprisingly, I find it’s harder to find casual, comfortable pants such as joggers, sweatpants, and leggings, that are a great length from the store. For years, I just wore those styles a little long, since they’re mostly worn around the house. However, after countless requests, I went on the hunt for options that work for Petites, and found a few I think you’ll love.

No-Hem Casual Petite Pants
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.
Splendid Angie Wide Leg Crop Pants

With summer right around the corner, breezy wide-leg pants are top of the requests coming into my inbox. I tried options from all of my go-to places; LOFT, Old Navy, Abercrombie, and J.Crew, and didn’t find any options (so far) that worked for me. The pair I found that is perfect for me all around is surprisingly, not petite at all, but a cropped pair from Splendid. There are so many great things about these pants, they’re light in color, but not see-through. They’re a linen blend, which keeps them lightweight, but not scratchy or overly wrinkle prone. They’re comfortable and I highly recommend them. I’m wearing them in XS and find them to be true to size. (Take 20% off with my code BROOKE20).
If you’re a couple of inches taller than me, you may also like these less expensive options I tried from Old Navy and Abercrombie. I also like the fit of this pair from Madewell. I also love this chambray option from J.Crew Factory in Petite (tts).

Athleta Rainier Joggers

I first posted about this pair of joggers from Athleta in this post. At the time I also received tons of recommendations for petite joggers from brands like Vuori, Lululemon, Old Navy, and Kohls. I ended up trying the Vuori joggers and overall liked them, but to me, Athleta still has my top overall pick. If you’re looking for a soft and comfortable pair to wear around the house, I recommend this pair. If you’re looking for a pair that will work out and about, the Rainier Joggers are a good option. The Rainier Joggers have a slim fit that I think works great for Petites. They have a stretchy waistband, similar to that of a pair of leggings. I’m wearing them in Petite XXS and find them to be true to size overall. If you’re looking for a pair that may be cooler for summer, try this pair.

Aerie Real Me Leggings

When it comes to leggings, there are several options for petites. I have found great pairs from all of my favorite brands, but my overall top pick that I’ll buy over and over again is the Real Me Leggings from Aerie. These leggings are so comfortable. They’re supportive enough to wear through a workout but comfortable enough to sleep in. They’re 7/8 length and also come in short, so as a petite, you’ll get a perfect ankle length with this pair. These leggings also come in a flare option and come in several colors. They go down to XXS, but I went with XS Short.

Gap Vintage Sweatpants

If these sweatpants are clean, I’m wearing them! These pants are so comfortable, soft and warm. They’re my absolute favorite pair to wear around the house and the only pair of sweatpants I’ve been able to find that is truly petite-friendly. I’m wearing this pair in XS Petite and they fit true to size, with a cozy, generous fit. They also come in black. I mostly wear these around the house, but if the weather permits, they would be a great travel option! These pants were a great length when I bought them, but they have shrunk just a tad through washing. So keep that in mind when you first receive them, they may be a little longer than they appear on me.

Splendid Eco Supersoft Rib Pant
- Inseam: 26″
- Rise: 11″
If you love matching lounge sets, you’ll love this silky lightweight ribbed set from Splendid. This pair is also not petite, but has a great fit! I’m wearing them in XS and find them to be true to size with lots of stretch. The matching top, is a little large in the armholes, which isn’t an issue if you’re planning to wear it as a true lounge set, but may be an issue if you want to wear it out.
