Comfortable Shoes for Work

I’m still working through my most recent post request list. One common topic that was requested over and over again was comfortable shoes for work. The shoes I chose not only look great with your work wardrobe, but they’re all comfortable and walkable—some more than others, but I’ll get into that. If you have small feet like me, these shoes all start at a size 5.

Comfortable Shoes for Work

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Slingback Heels

For a pair of heels – these slingback heels from Sam Edelman are pretty comfortable. They have a low walkable heel and an extended toe that doesn’t scrunch your toes. They’re not perfect on the comfort scale, but I think they’re an excellent compromise if you need to wear heels. In the break-in period these heels have a little squeak to them when you walk, but as they soften the squeak goes away. They start at a size 5 and are true to size.

Loafers

The Lorainne Loafers from Sam Edelman are some of the most comfortable around. The leather is buttery soft right out of the box, and they have a cushioned footbed. These loafers come in several color options, with some colors starting at a size 4.5. If you’re wondering about socks, I like to wear these no-show socks with them. The color I’m wearing is soft beige and I find them to be true to size.

Ballet Flats

The Arissa flats from Shutz are one my favorite pairs of shoes. I love them because they’re neutral and go with so many different outfits, but they’re also comfortable. If you need support, these shoes are probably not for you as they feel like being barefoot. The leather is very lightweight and soft, and they don’t pinch on my feet. These shoes are long in the toe, but I find them true to size overall. The length of these shoes has never bothered me, but I know from feedback it bothers some.

Sneakers

Sneakers are becoming increasingly common in the workplace. Any slim sneaker will do, but I love a classic, clean white pair. From a comfort standpoint, I chose this pair from Vionic for their support. Before they’re truly comfortable, these sneakers have a break-in period, so you may want to break them in before long wear.
