In my first post about closet classics, I was also wearing another closet staple – the schoolboy blazer. If you missed the first post, this post is part of a series where I will highlight items I purchased in the past that are still current today (and should be for years to come). The kind of things you won’t regret spending your money on. Today, I’m talking all about this classic blazer.
The Schoolboy Blazer
A blazer is a classic to begin with, but what I appreciate about the schoolboy blazer in particular is the classic fit, the gold buttons, and the sweet pinstriped liner that shows if you cuff the sleeves. I personally own this blazer in both petite and regular. The navy is a petite xs, and personally I find it a little too tight in the shoulders (because my shoulders are broad). However, the regular xs (the tan blazer) is a much better fit on my broad shoulders.
Four Ways to Wear the Schoolboy Blazer
There are countless ways to wear a classic blazer, which is why it’s on my list of closet classics. Today, I’m sharing four ways I’ve worn it on this blog of mine, and the ways I wear it day to day.
With A Skirt
When the weather is warmer, I often wear this blazer with a skirt. It is not only cute with mini skirts like I’m wearing above, it’s just a cute with a pencil skirt, and if you’re taller than me, a midi skirt.
With Distressed Denim
I love how a blazer can bring a little polish to distressed denim. The pair of jeans I’m wearing in the picture are a distressed straight fit, but I also love wearing this blazer with distressed skinnies, and boyfriend jeans.
With A Dress
When I wear dresses to work in the summer, I always bring an extra layer. That AC is brutal. I personally love to wear this blazer to keep the look polished.
With Jeans
Look familiar? In the first post about closet classics, I highlighted the gingham button down, but so many of you commented on the jacket. I’m with you girls, this blazer is a star! I’m wearing it with dark denim here, but it’s beautiful with white denim, black denim, and colored denim too.
The Schoolboy Blazer Cost
When you catch it on sale, this blazer is a steal for the quality. It’s currently around $50. I’ve owned both of these for around a year, but in the reviews, there are ladies who have owned them for five years, and attest to their quality. You can’t beat that!
