There’s just something about a maxi dress that makes everyone say, “I LOVE your dress!” They’re the easiest thing to wear, always comfortable, yet they always make me look and feel very put together. Of course, being 4’10” when I buy a maxi dress, it’s a given I will need to have it hemmed, but they’re worth it, oh so worth it!

Knit Maxi Dress from Nordstrom
This blue maxi is new to me. After seeing it on Putting Me Together, I just had to have it. It’s one of those dresses that is just easy to wear. It has adjustable straps, which is great for me, and it has a lot of stretch and fabric, which makes it a good fit for a lot of body types. I wore high wedges in the photo (and the dress was of course still too long for me) but after taking these photos I took it to be hemmed to the length I could wear sandals with it. I don’t love wearing wedges with a maxi because the dress gets all caught up in my shoes. Plus, if you’re going to get all comfortable with the maxi, may as well be comfortable on your feet too! The dress is on sale at Nordstrom under $40 and also comes in other colors!
Jardin by Macris Maxi Dress
This floral maxi has been in my closet for over a year and has never made it to the blog. I bought it off of Jane, and it’s no longer available online, which is why I never shared it. However, this dress is always highly complimented. Every single time I wear it someone stops me to tell me how much they love it. This dress also never wrinkles, you can wear a racerback bra with it and it’s fully lined. It does have pockets, but to me the pockets are a downfall because they slip out all of the time and just hang there, which is a big drawback for the dress. However, I still love it, so tucking a pocket here or there isn’t a huge deal. I did find it online in other colors, which I’ll link below. I did hem this dress, so don’t worry, it’s not a short maxi!
