If you’re looking for a pair of jeans that make you look taller, flare jeans are it! Pair them with heeled boots or heels for an ultra lengthening effect. If they’re high-rise, your legs will look even longer (if you tuck your top in).
So, whether you’re new to flare jeans or you’re ready to dive back into a trend you once loved as a teen, like me, here are a few petite-friendly ways to wear flare jeans.
Petite-Friendly Flare Jeans
This is the second time I’ve written about flare jeans on my blog, The first time around I styled a pair of Artist Flare jeans from AE. They’re a great petite-friendly option, but if I was going to recommend a pair overall, I would say go with the pair from Abercrombie that I’m wearing in this post. They’re rigid denim with a high-rise and a 70’s vibe. I’m wearing them in 25 Short and the length works well with heels for me. They do stretch with wear, so although I sized up, I would say go with your true size instead.
6 Ways to Wear Flare Jeans
With a Leather Jacket
I’m wearing a sleeveless chambray top here, but any denim or chambray top can recreate the look. My jacket is well-loved and worth the investment if you’re in the market for a leather jacket, but I’ll also link a similar option that’s less expensive.

With a Blouse and Heels
It’s still cold here, but if you live somewhere mild, or you’re just preparing yourself for spring and summer – flare jeans look great with heeled sandals and a pretty blouse too.

With a Topcoat
Ok, but back to winter. I love the way cropped jackets look with flare jeans, but a longline topcoat or cardigan also works. Bonus points for flare jeans, you can wear warm cozy socks with your boots.

With a White Button Down
You can’t go wrong with a classic white button-down top with any style of jeans. My exact top is from Walmart and it has a slightly oversized fit in the body, but the sleeve length is great.

With a Long Cardigan
You can add a long cardigan to the outfit above for an extra layer! I bought this cardigan last year from Amazon and the overall washability and color make it one of my all-time favorite neutral cardigans.
