I definitely love denim shorts, but you can’t beat the comfort of a soft breathable pair of shorts when it get’s really hot. Today I’m sharing four options to start building a breezy petite-friendly summer wardrobe.
Four Non-Denim Shorts Outfits

Ruffle Shorts
For the first two outfits, I’m styling the same ruffle shorts from Aerie in two different ways. The shorts are light and thin. They go down to a size XXS, but I opted for XS in them. I think the fit is comfortable and roomy in that size. The top runs true to size for me that’s Petite XXS.

For the second one, I picked a simple tank top and sandals. My sandals are from last year, so I’m linking a similar option for you. The tank top is silky and soft, it fits me well in Petite XS. The armholes just barely graze the top of my bra area, you may prefer to wear a cami with it.

Romper
I love this romper! It’s comfortable and soft and fits in all the right places (armholes, v-neck, and length of shorts). There are other color options for this one as well. Sizes start at XXS, I’m wearing it in XS. I could also see it as a great bathing suit coverup.

Striped Shorts
The last pair is a pull-on pair from Target. They also come in other colors and fit well in XS. They’re comfortable and roomy!

We had a taste of shorts weather this past weekend and it was so nice! Most of my content from here will be focusing on things that can work (in some areas) now and into the summer. If you’re looking for more recent shorts outfits, check out this post.
