Remember me? I’m back in a monochromatic look. I took about a one month fashion hiatus, laid up on the couch and cooked occasionally. Keyword, occasionally. To be totally honest, I have done as little as possible the last eight weeks or so, battling morning sickness and just doing what I can to keep my toddler semi happy (he was totally unhappy with recently boring momma). But, I am currently 14 weeks and feeling oh sooooo much better! Night and day I tell ya.
I’m still relatively the same size, but the baby fluff is starting to make an appearance. I say fluff because you know in the beginning it’s all squishy, bloat, non attractiveness before the cute bump emerges. Despite not being full blown bumptastic I have definitely made a semi transition to maternity clothes, still fitting into a limited number of clothes. Maternity clothes, although they are the most comfortable ever, have always made me a bit sad. They try, they do, but being ultra petite it’s hard for me to find items that are bump friendly without looking like a potato sack on. Longer tops and hemlines equal frumpy on me, but thankfully retailers like ASOS and LOFT have some petite maternity options I can make work. Oh and while I’m at it, I also miss the ability to tuck in my shirts and rock all the fabulous skirts out this season, but hey come March I’ll have me a little sugar pie to cuddle and those skirts can wait!
But getting back to this outfit, my last few weeks of fluffy baby bump vs. full blown baby bump have me trying to squeeze every opportunity out of the clothes I still fit into.
These boyfriend jeans I styled earlier this year are a prime example. These are what you would call, standing only pants. I could walk around for days in them but ask me to sit down, wooooweee we have a problem. So I squeezed myself into these bad boys and popped on a breezy top to drape right over the baby fluff and took advantage of one of my last few times in non maternity clothes for the next seven months.
