If you caught Wednesday’s post, I introduced this two part series of my guilt free sweet and salty snacks. Head back to that post to see the sweet side of things, but for the salty side, keep reading! I should use the term “salty” lightly. I’m not saying you should load up on the sodium, but if you’re anything like me, sometimes you just crave something salty and savory. When those cravings hit, I reach for alternatives that are just as tasty, without the belly bloating side effects of some of the traditional salty things I love.
My Go-To Guilt Free Salty Snacks
1. Cheese Sticks
Simple, tasty and always on point. I keep cheese sticks in my fridge at all times. Not only do my kids love them, I love them too.
2. Handful of Nuts
Another item I always have on hand is some kind of nut. Cashews, pistachios and almonds are just a few of my favorites. They’re always simple, always filling, and easy to take in my purse. This is something I have to measure out to control the portion size.
3. Paleo Puffs
If there was a perfect “puff” these would be it. LesserEvil Paleo Puffs are grain free, made with organic cassava root, coconut, sweet potato, himalayan sea salt, and coconut oil. The ingredients are nutrient dense and full of fiber, so they’re easy to digest and don’t lead to any of that belly bloat.
They are more dense than say a typical cheese puff, but they are crunchy and satisfying. I personally have tried all three flavors; “No Cheese” Cheesiness, Himalayan Pink Salt, and Himalayan Salt ‘N Apple Cider Vinegar. My absolute favorite is the “No Cheese” Cheesiness. They get the cheesiness from nutritional yeast if you’re wondering. All of the ingredients are clean, easy to read and easy to understand – which for me is something I look for in packaged foods.

4. Hummus + Veggies
Hummus is one of those things I put on everything. It’s tasty! I love it on sandwiches, with chicken, with pretzels and with veggies. I like to buy the pre-portioned tubs, they’re so easy to pack in lunches and help control my portions.
5. Hard Boiled Eggs
Simple, and with a tiny bit of salt on top, salty and satisfying! I love that you can grab hard boiled eggs when you’re out too – hello Starbucks protein box!
So, what about you? What are your favorite guilt free savory/salty snacks?
