- Sunday: Time to plan again!
Tomorrow, my bestie and I are planning to do our annual apple picking trip. It may not have cooled down quite yet, but it is Fall in my book. Every year we visit Carter Monutain and pick our own apples. Then come home and make apple pie! This year, I will be coming up with a new healthy apple pie recipe. Last year, I made one and it was great, but I lost the recipe, bummer. So stay tuned if that turns out a success, I will definelty be sharing!
This past weekend was quite the roller coaster ride. Friday, we had to put our family dog of 15 years to sleep. It was defintley hard. I spent a lot of that night crying. She was one of my best friends since I was 10. I picked her out of a neighbors litter of puppies during a snow storm and told my dad I found her in the ditch so he would let me keep her. Weeks later, the neighbor stopped by to ask dad how the the puppy was doing. Ha, I was found out, but lucky me, he let me keep her anyway. For the last 15 years she has been as loyal as any dog can be. She has always been there to greet me whenever I would come home. It will be hard to not see her anymore, but I will always be grateful for her companionship over the years.
So, with sadness, always comes my coping mechanisms, shopping and distractions. I went on a lululemon shopping spree Friday night, because I felt like it. A new pair of speed short and a bra were all my spree could afford, because lets face it, at lulu, the short are a spree all alone. #expensive but #worthit! (yeah I hashtagged a blog, what?)
Saturday, we went out to the Oyster Festival. I hate oysters but it was a nice distraction. I had some vegan fish tacos and rocked polka dots, with a puffy face from too many tears.
