Today I’m sharing four classic spring jackets, all with a petite-friendly fit. I chose jackets that are staples of a spring wardrobe; a denim jacket, trench coat (also a cropped option), and a rain jacket.

Petite-Friendly Spring Jackets
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Denim Jacket
A denim jacket is such a wardrobe classic. I wear mine the most during spring and summer with jeans, shorts, dresses, and skirts. The denim jacket I chose for this post is from J.Crew. It doesn’t come in petite, but it has a cropped fit that works well for petites. In my true size the jacket is slightly cropped, it fits well through the shoulders and the sleeves are a perfect length, ending at my wrists. The jacket comes in two washes, I’m wearing in Alicia Wash.

Trench Coat
For a classic trench coat, the Icon Trench Coat from J.Crew is my top pick. If you’re a frequent reader of my blog – that’s not the first time I’ve told you that. The jacket is well proportioned for petites. It fits well through the shoulders and sleeves and isn’t too long and overwhelming in overall length. The hood is optional and the fabric is water resistant – so this one also works in light rain. I wear the jacket in my true size but it does run a little slim through the arms so you may want to size up if you prefer more room there. Cropped Trench Coat
A cropped trench coat isn’t a classic choice, but a cute trendy option. This one from J.Crew Factory has a great fit and I appreciate that the sleeves are a perfect length. It is a swing style with a pleat in the back and the sleeves are slightly puffed at the cuffs. This jacket is true to size.

Rain Jacket
Last year I reviewed multiple rain jackets and many of those are still available. I found mostly short options for that post, so I wanted to find a longer option for you. This jacket comes in petite so the sleeves are a great length. This jacket comes close to my knees, so I love the drawstring waist for pulling it in some. In addition to the sage option I chose, this jacket also comes in three other colors (included neutral black or white). It’s a lightweight jacket that isn’t just great for a rainy day, but is also a cute option for a casual day. I’m wearing it here in Petite XXS and would say it runs a little bit large. I would size down for a closer fit or stick to your true size to allow layering if needed.
