Petite-Friendly Rain Jackets

Some days you just need to pick an outfit for function over fashion. Those wet and rainy days of spring are those days. Today I’m sharing a few different rain jacket options that fit different styles, and they’re all petite-friendly.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement of the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online.

L.L. Bean

After falling for the winter coats at L.L. Bean, I wanted to give their petite rain jackets a try as well. I landed on the H2Off Rain Jacket. This jacket comes in five colors, including this pretty lilac option. In this post, this jacket is my favorite. It has the best fit and design overall. Some of my favorite features are the drawstring waist to give some shape and the large interior zip pocket to keep your essentials dry with you on a rainy day. This jacket is water and windproof.

Eddie Bauer

I didn’t try an Eddie Bauer winter coat, but the brand was recommended to me numerous times by readers. So I opted to try one of their petite rain jackets. I went for the Port Townsend jacket. This jacket comes in four colors. I think it has a great petite overall and has a little room through the body so you can layer sweaters under it if needed. It also has an interior zipper pocket that I love. This jacket also has zippers on the sides to zip open for more room.

The North Face

The North Face doesn’t offer petites, but I find their jackets and coats to fit well in regular sizing (so you could say maybe they run a little small). I chose two options to try, a long and short style.

First, the Antora Parka. This jacket is thigh-length and comes in three color options. I love the sleeve length and slim fit on this jacket. It’s still easy to layer under but doesn’t add a lot of extra bulk. I’m wearing it here in XS.

I also tried the Antora Rain Hoodie. It’s hip length and has an adjustable drawstring at the bottom. This one also has a great fit despite not being petite. I love the light color, but it is also available in three other colors.
