Last month I decided to embark on my very first DIY raw hem. It was totally last minute, and a little bit reckless – which is typically the way I do things. Sometimes that works out well, sometimes not so well. The jeans fared well that day, but did the raw hem bliss last?
Raw Hem Jeans
Yes! Yes, it did and still does. You may have already gathered that by how often I’ve wear these jeans on the blog. They’ve just become better with time. The hem is a little more worn from washing and is a fun detail mixed with an otherwise polished outfit.
I’ve since gone on to chop the hem off of another pair of jeans with the same glorious outcome. I wore that pair to get a pedicure and my nail tech was impressed, said she was going to go home and do the same thing to some of her jeans. I also got extra brave and sewed up one of my shoes that had tear at the seam and they haven’t fallen apart yet. Look out y’all, you can basically call me a seamstress at this point. (Totally joking!)

The point of this post was saying in the longest way possible, if you’re thinking of cutting a raw hem on a pair of your jeans, I say do it – it lasts!
