Happy Friday ladies!!! Today is less than 1 week from the big 20 week baby scan! I am counting down the days to seeing the little one dancing around on the ultrasound screen and finding out whether I can start referring to the baby as “him” or “her” (instead of “him or her”). Seeing as I am rounding the curve towards the halfway mark, I thought I would give a little pregnancy update this week!
Progress up to this point: Things have gone well so far – I have felt really lucky that I didn’t have any severe nausea during my first trimester. Fatigue has been my biggest enemy making that 1 cup of coffee per day limit quite the challenge but it has started letting up since entering into my second trimester. It probably doesn’t help that I haven’t been sleeping quite so awesomely as I normally do (pre-pregnancy I would be out like a light from the moment my head hit the pillow until my alarm would jar me out of a small coma). Of course there is the middle of the night pee run that I’ve had since month one but now there is the added element of not being able to sleep on my back. As a avid back sleeper, I am still working to get adjusted to my new side sleeping position. Its very much a work in progress as I frequently wake up with my shoulder frozen in pain from sleeping on it too long. Other than that things have been so great! I know I have a lot ahead of me to get done but now that I am done with school, I have a lot more time to focus my attention on baby prep and enjoying the rest of my pregnancy.
Gender guess: Nothing solid. I have been trying not to guess too hard one way or the other so I don’t get it in my mind that I am having one gender to then be thrown off on gender screen day. Brooke has guessed girl secondary to the old heart rate wives tale (heart rate over 140 bpm, having a girl). Buuuut I didn’t really have any morning sickness (just the icks) which I have read is often greater with girls so maybe its a boy? There is a tale that if you are craving sweets you are carrying a girl but salty cravings means its a boy – I usually crave both at some point each day so that one isn’t very useful. The Chinese calendar says its going to be a boy. I have been asked if I have had any dreams to point me in that direction…nope. I’m kind of leaning towards thinking it may be a girl but one thing is for sure, its going to be one or the other and it doesn’t matter to me either way! At least there are only 6 more days ahead of me until I know for sure!
Bump status: Minimal. Its starting to grow but at this point it just looks more like a gut than a bump however it is slowly changing over! As long as I stick to flowy tops then I have been mostly been able to wear my normal clothes. That’s why I love this top. When we chose this to add to our store, I immediately snatched one up for myself because I knew that it would get a lot of wear until my bump starts getting all big and would also be a great top to wear postpartum for hiding any post baby squish.

You look fabulous! And yay for no nausea! That is the pits! I am a labor nurse, but I am terrible at picking gender. I am always wrong;) It will be fabulous either way!! I am in love with this top!! I need a new white top in my closet! I know you sent me a coupon code, but I have deleted it in my e mail. Would you please resend the code to me if you can – so I can order this? It is perfect for summer! Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Susan
What a lovely top and update. I can barely see the bump but I would guess boy. Will you have a gender reveal party or just let it out? We just revealed our gender pregnancies via calls and text messages right away as we were impatient.
Can’t wait to find out!
