Several years ago my mom bought me a sweater blazer from J.Crew for my birthday. It was a special gift then, and something I have treasured for years. It has remained a staple in my closet and has been styled on this blog many times. (much older posts here, and here) That blazer is great but it’s a style that seems to be phasing out at J.Crew, so when I came across one that looked identical to my longtime favorite at Quince, I just had to see how it compared.

Here’s how they compare:
- The Fit – The Quince sweater fits me well in XS, whereas the J.Crew sweater fits me the best in XXS. I would say the Quince sweater is true to size.
- The Fabric – The Quince sweater is 100% organic cotton, while the J.Crew sweater is a cotton/poly/merino blend. Both sweaters feel the same in terms of quality (long lasting closet staples).
- The Care – The J.Crew sweater is dry-clean only, but the Quince sweater is machine washable on delicate.
- The Price – The Quince sweater is less expensive.
I’ve been in to Quince lately. I love the quality of brands like Madewell, J.Crew, and Everlane, but I’m also always happy to find a better price. I’ve found that Quince has the same quality, and lovely (often sustainable) fabrics, at a much better price point than other brands. You can find many popular styles at Quince that you’ll see at brands like Artizia and Vuori for half the price as well. The only downfall, is they don’t currently offer petites, but I’ve found that many of their sweaters, tops, and dresses still fit me well. I even found their joggers to be a great petite fit. As far as this sweater blazer goes, I’m wearing it in XS (in speckled beige) and it fits me the same as the J.Crew blazer does in XXS.
Four Ways to Wear a Sweater Blazer
My Sizing: I’m 4’10” and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″ and 36″. My typical inseam is 24-25″. The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. Unless otherwise noted, I found each item to run true to size.
What I love about a sweater blazer is it is easy to dress up and down. You can wear it to work, but the relaxed style of this one makes it even easier to wear casually with a pair of leggings as well.
