Ever since the age of being trusted with a lighter, I’ve been a fan of candles. My mom wasn’t a huge candle person, but you better believe my teenage self had a candle burning in my room daily. Even then I realized the power of a candle and the oasis it created with a simple scent and a warm flame. To this day, I’m always burning a candle in my home and use them as the finishing touch of my home decor. To me they are like the icing on the cake.
My taste in scents have come a long way since the days of my teens. I was once only interested in the cozy sweet scents of pumpkin and vanilla, and still love those scents seasonally, but now I appreciate fresh candles, preferably with essential oils. What I love about candles made from essential oils, is not only are the scents normally fresh and light, they’re also blended to create certain moods. Whether you need to focus, relax, or maybe you need more energy; there’s a candle for that. I’ve been buying Chesapeake Bay Candles for years, but I was more recently introduced to their Mind & Body Collection in a Babbleboxx. You may remember that review here.
The Perfect Candle for Every Room in Your Home
I loved that candle and have since gone on to try some of their other scents in my home. These candles are all infused with essential oils, and are made with a natural soy based wax blend, they’re also beautiful and compliment my decor. I’ve grown to love using them in different parts of my home, depending on the mood I want to set. Want to know what scent I use where? Keep reading.
In My Office
Let’s start with where this blogging magic happens. I’m kidding y’all, it’s not all that magical, but when I sit at this desk of mine, I’m on a tight schedule and I need focus, but I also need creativity. I keep the awaken + invigorate candle on my desk. The fragrance is a fresh lemongrass eucalyptus scent that goes perfectly with my succulent (aka the only plant I can keep alive). The awaken + invigorate fragrance is infused with essential oils of eucalyptus, lemongrass, peppermint, and spearmint.
It has fresh citrus top notes and truly is invigorating! I also do my morning workouts in my office, so I like to light it for that too.
In The Kitchen
I have such a strange relationship with cooking y’all. I’m not bad at it, but I don’t love it, I would rather eat out any day. So, when I walk in the kitchen to cook something I need a little serenity now to get me going. I keep the stillness + purity candle burning in my kitchen, for just that, a little serenity. The scent is rose water which includes essential oils of cedar leaf, orange, mandarin, petitgrain, geranium, gurjun balsam, and rose absolute. This is one of my favorite scents. It’s a light floral with notes of peony (my favorite) and moroccan rose.
I also love the light pink tone of the glass and the little pop of color it gives my all white kitchen. I’ve been challenging myself to cook more lately, I even bought the Magnolia Table to give myself a little nudge. So far, so good and for what it’s worth, the Buttermilk Blueberry Puff is delicious!
In My Living Room
My living room is one of my favorite rooms in my house. It’s where we all gather, and it’s meant for relaxing. I breath a big sigh of relief when I can just snuggle on this couch with my boys. I’ve been burning the coffee table serenity + calm candle which is lavender thyme scent that is infused with essential oils of rosemary, eucalyptus, camphor, lavender, lavandin, cedarwood, fir needle, fir balsam, orange, patchouli, bergamot, and thyme. It’s not only beautiful on my coffee table, it truly is relaxing. I need relaxing, and let’s be honest, so do my boys. This does the trick and helps us all wind down after a busy day.
From the moment I wake up with that early morning workout, to winding down at the end of the day, I have a candle nearby; they really set the tone for my day. What about you? Are you a fan of candles? Have you tried blends with essential oils?
