Watch out world, girlfriend has finally been introduced to air frying. Not with just any old air fryer either, I’ve been air frying with the very first range on the market, with a built-in air fryer, the Frigidaire Gallery Front Control Electric Range with Air FryBlogging comes with some pretty cool opportunities sometimes. When The Home Depot asked me if I would be interested in trying this new Frigidaire Gallery Range in my kitchen, I said, of course! So, I’ve been using it for a month, and I’ve really put it to the test so I could give you a good review.
Built-In Air Frying
First, I’ll talk about the feature that makes this range truly unique, the air fry feature. With air fry you can make food that is crisp on the outside, and moist on the inside, much like you would get from traditional frying. However, air frying uses little to no oil, so there is a significantly lower amount of fat in your meals! You get that crisp fried taste without the guilt!
I’ve used a cookie sheet with a rack for air frying, as well as the optional air fry tray that comes from Frigidaire. The rack really allows for the air to circulate around the food, so you get a nice crisp outside!
What I’ve Been Cooking
Having no previous experience with air fry, I took to Pinterest for some inspiration. I wasn’t sure if the oven would perform the way a stand alone air fryer does, but it does! I was able to pull recipes online and follow the instructions perfectly.
We tried to cook a good mix of things to get an idea for how the oven works. I say we because my husband tends to help me in the kitchen (I’m not the best cook). We tried air fried chicken breasts first, and it was a win! Typically when I bake chicken breasts in the oven they end up pretty dry, but with air fry they came out crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. We went on to cook the best bacon you’ll ever eat, it’s nice and crispy and less greasy, and crispy roasted potatoes!
I even tried a donut recipe that ended up pretty good! Air fry also makes for the best french fries you’ll get out of your oven, they’re crispy, not limp and soggy.
Features
The air fry is pretty cool, but this range also comes with a few other cool features. First, it comes in electric, induction, and gas. I personally have the electric range, with a convection oven. Convection baking makes for even baking, and speeds up baking time. This is the first time I’ve used a convection oven, and I definitely burnt a few things before I got the hang of it. Oops!
The burners come with various size options, you can choose to heat three different areas within the large burner which makes it easy to use any pan. There is also a quick boil feature on one eye, as well as a warming zone.
Style
I think the beauty of this range speaks for itself. It’s sleek, and can replace any slide-in range. Having the controls on the front leaves an open canvas to showcase a beautiful backsplash and blend seamlessly with your counter. It gives a nice built-in look, without the hassle of a kitchen remodel. I think my favorite part is the knobs, they’re so pretty! Sometimes it’s the little things that get me.
Recommend Without Hesitation
If you’re in the market for a new range, I highly recommend the Frigidaire Range with Air Fry. It’s beautiful, cooks like a dream and you can’t forget that built-in air fry feature!
