I bought my first pair of Veja sneakers last year, a pair of Esplar sneakers in white. I personally loved them from the very first wear and still wear them regularly. I recently also bought a Campo style and I love them just as much. I get a lot of questions about my Veja sneakers so I thought I would put together a post and answer your most common questions.

Sizing
I totally messed up the sizing in pretty much all of my posts about these sneakers until a reader pointed out my mistake recently (so sorry about that)! Veja sneakers come in European sizing and I was under the impression that a 35 was equivalent to a US size 5 (my true size). However, according to the Veja size chart, their 35 is actually equivalent to a US 4. So while I thought these were true to size, you should really go down one full size. In 35, both styles fit me well, they’re neither snug nor loose and don’t slip when I walk. I have a pretty average foot it’s not wide or narrow.
Lacing
What do I do with the laces? I’m sure you’ve seen in my posts that I wear my laces tucked in. I do this with nearly all of my sneakers. I just simply tuck the laces underneath the insole of the shoe. Occasionally I will need to retuck them but for the most part, I can tuck a pair of laces and wear the shoes over and over again without ever having to readjust them. I also like that it makes the shoes easy to take off and on.
Socks
I typically wear no-show socks with my low sneakers. This pair from Amazon stays up so well. I’ve worn them for years, and they work great until they eventually stretch and get a little worn, then they start to slip a little. But I can get a good year’s use out of them.
Are They Comfortable?
Yes! Comfort is a personal opinion of course, but to me, both styles are very comfortable. I wore the Esplar pair to Disney last spring and walked miles in them without any issues.

Similarities
These shoes are obviously two different styles, but they’re both leather and both come in different color combinations. Although I haven’t had the Campo style as long, my Esplar pair has had over a year of heavy wear and you can see how good they still look. So, I would consider them both to be durable and long-lasting pairs of sneakers. The leather is easy to wipe clean on both of them.

Style Differences
Sole
The Campo style has a thicker sole and a slight platform fit over the Esplar.
Tongue
The tongue is higher on the Campo style than it is on the Esplar. This doesn’t make a difference to me, but I’ve had feedback from some readers that the tongue is uncomfortable to them on the Campo style.
Width
The campo style is a little wider overall than the Esplar style.
How to Style
You can see them styled many times on my blog, but there is a specific styling post found here, here, and here.
Where to Buy
