My Spring Style MVPs

It’s not quite spring yet, but I have that spring state of mind. We’ve been really lucky to have a taste of early spring weather here (although I’m sure it’s not going to stick) so I’ve been breaking out a few of my old spring favorites and buying a few new ones too. Here’s what’s been on heavy rotation for me lately:

My Spring Style MVPs

I only head to the office two days a week, and spend every other day, living that stay at home mom life. So my style is very casual and functional. I love to dress things up here and there, but I would say a good 95% of my outfits are your basic jeans, top, cute pair of shoes and repeat. This post in particular is going to focus on the casual things I wear, week after week and what I would consider to be my best invested pieces.

My Favorite Casual Spring Tops

My favorite tops for spring - Old Navy Striped Tee for Women

Two tops that I wear a lot came from Old Navy! I’ve learned through many purchase wins and loses from Old Navy that you have to be careful with what you buy from there. There are particular materials at Old Navy that I just know better than to buy. For example, their blouses are typically a material that doesn’t hold up, cute as they may be, they won’t last longer than a few washes. However, over the last year, their tees have greatly improved. I picked this one up in store, after passing it up online. The color in person is really beautiful and bright and the top is a very nice weight and fabric! I would compare it to the flare sleeve top I loved this fall (and still love), it’s been restocked for spring too!

I’ve also been wearing these bell sleeve tops from J. Crew Factory a lot lately. I started with the black one, and loved it so much I purchased ivory too.

Treasure & Bond Sporty V Neck Tee - Try on at Nordstrom

This one is a recent purchase for me (just this weekend actually). At $45, it’s a little steep for a tee, but this tee is some kind of comfortable! It’s a great weight, and has an oversized fit that would look really cute with a bralette. It’s one of those tops I can see myself wearing very regularly. It’s cute with jeans, leggings and will also be cute in the summer with shorts. If you follow me on Instagram, you know my husband totally made fun of me in these pants – he was like yeah those are shin holes, not knee holes. I actually did purchase them that day, but ultimately took them back after coming to the realization that he was pretty much right.

I’m not always the best at photographing everything I wear, so the next few are things I reach for weekly, but have yet to photograph! Earlier this year I purchased this gingham button down from J. Crew and it’s quickly become a favorite. It not only made it through fall (worn here), it will look be just as beautiful for spring. I also picked up this cropped sweatshirt from Aerie recently, that I’ve been wearing so much. It is a cropped fit so if you’re on the tall side, it may not be the best for you, but on me, it looks great with high rise denim and leggings. It is literally like butter on the inside!

My Favorite Spring Denim

I’m a denim girl through and through. I always feel the most comfortable in a pair of jeans, but since I can be a difficult fit, I can also be pretty picky! I really only have two brands and fits that I’m loving and wearing regularly. First up is the Rockstar Jean.

My Favorite Spring Wardrobe Pieces - Old Navy Rockstar Jeans

This particular outfit is one you can find me wearing a lot. These jeans are Rockstar jeans, that I purchased last year. I’ve gone on and on about the fit of Rockstar jeans in the past, so you know I love them! Seriously they’re the best $20 bucks you can spend.

Another pair of jeans I wear a lot are these 9″ toothpick jeans from J. Crew. They were a little bit pricey for me (because well, I can be cheap) but they were so worth their price tag. These jeans never stretch out or lose their shape, and despite their dark wash, the color has remained dark and rich (the particular wash I’m wearing is sold out – it was called resin). Dark jeans tend to be my favorite, because I feel the best in the them. The petite inseam is the perfect length on my 4’10” self which is a total win! I also wore them here.

My Favorite Spring Shoes

Despite the fact that I have a closet full of shoes, I tend to wear the same few pairs regularly, when I’m not at work. Since this post is focusing more on my casual style, I’ll leave my favorite work shoes to another post. These Tory Burch sandals were a splurge for me last summer, but they were so worth it. I wore these last year nearly every day and I can see myself doing the very same this year. Despite the heavy wear, they still look beautiful and they are always comfortable!

Gingham Dress from j. crew with tory burch sandals

Another pair that’s new to me, but I see becoming a favorite for me, are these Jeffrey Campbell Charlin Mules.

Jeffrey Campbell Mules for spring 2018

After falling for the blush target mules, I was really craving a neutral mule to wear regularly. I loved the look of the Target mule, but they just aren’t super comfortable (sometimes you get what you pay for). The Jeffrey Campbell mules are also a blush tone, but very muted, so they come across more as a nude. They go with everything and I feel like they elevate a simple outfit! Plus, they’re buttery and comfortable! They run small, I actually had to return the first pair and order an entire size up. I went from a 5 to a 6, the 6 was a much better fit for me.

So there ya’ have it. My current spring faves. I say current because my likes and dislikes can be ever changing like the wind, but for now, these are my favorites! Do we share any of the same likes?
