8 Spring Work Outfits

Work outfits are always highly requested and I try my best to deliver on your requests. It took me a little longer to put this post together because I’ve been searching for the last couple of months to find some spring dress pants for work – and it has just been an epic fail. I’m a practice manager at a small medical office, so most of my coworkers wear scrubs. Aside from the physicians I’m the only one who dresses up so I can be a little more casual/business casual. I can wear white and black jeans to work, just not blue jeans, but I know from talking with many of you that’s a little too casual for your office. So, while I really wanted to deliver on some options that are a little more dressed up, I couldn’t find a single pair of petite dress pants for spring that didn’t need to be hemmed – and I don’t put things on the blog that need to be hemmed. However, I did find a few really cute options for someone who is maybe just a few inches taller than me so I’ll link those at the end of the post for my 5 foot and up friends. But for now, here are a few skirts and dresses and of course my beloved demi-boot jeans you can wear to work if your dress code is similar to mine.

Peplum Top

Recognize this top? I first shared it in my Untucked Outfits post and it was a top seller. This color I’m wearing has sold out in most sizes but I wanted to restyle it for those of you who purchased it, and it’s also still available in black! First, I kept the outfit the same as the other post with my pair of demi-boot white jeans and pumps, but then showed how it also works well tucked into a pencil skirt.

Pencil Skirt

The skirt is really comfortable for a pencil skirt. It runs a little big, but I wouldn’t say you need to size up. I’m my opinion the extra room makes it more comfortable and easy to sit down in – something that doesn’t always happen with pencil skirts. I styled the skirt two ways with the peplum top and then with a comfortable tank top. My shoes are a comfortable find from J.Crew Factory, the color I’m wearing sold out fast, but I’m really hopeful they’ll restock!

Puff Sleeve Top

I first shared this perfectly proportioned puff sleeve top for Petites on Instagram. It’s hard to find this trendy style in a fit that isn’t too overwhelming on a small frame, so I bought the other color too. I styled this outfit with both the white and blue top. All white is beautiful but can be a little bit fussy and intimidating, so I wanted to share another option also. I also wore this top with a midi skirt. I ended up wearing that outfit on Easter Sunday!

The jeans are an all-time favorite for me. The fit and quality can’t be beaten. I also have this pair in black that I love to wear to work.

As much as I wanted to wear the floral midi dress I shared in my Easter Dress post, I ended up wearing this top and skirt on Easter because it was a little too cold for a sleeveless outfit. The skirt has a great petite fit, but you will need a slip underneath to combat the static cling that happens when you sit down.

Dress

Because I have such a hard time finding pants that I like when spring and summer rolls around I love wearing skirts and dresses the most to work. If this dress came in other prints I would buy them all. I absolutely love the fit. It’s so comfortable and the v-neck is perfect! It’s still available in Petite XS and XXS (the size I’m wearing) but is starting to sell out, so grab it while you still can!

The last one is my favorite jeans with a simple blouse from LOFT. I can’t sing the praises of LOFT’s petite fit enough (clearly I write about them a lot). I wish I could link these shoes for you, but they’re sold out. I get so many questions about them I even emailed Steve Madden customer service and asked if they would bring them back. They’ll probably just laugh that one off, but they did pass it on. I say it never hurts to ask. 🙂 I’ll keep an eye out if they ever do bring back a similar pair!

Petite Pants Options

In my quest to find some options for pants I came across a couple they were just a tiny bit too long for me, but would work well for someone a tiny bit taller, maybe 5 foot and up. This pair from J.Crew was really cute and well made, they fit true to size. This pair from Ann Taylor was an almost as well, but they were just a tad too long.

I’ll always be on the lookout for some options for work and will be sure to share them when I come across them! I’ve also been asked to style outfits for those of you working from home and I’ll see what I can come up with! I don’t personally work from home (not counting my blog work) so my mind goes a little bit blank when I think of that. I gravitate to jeans and a nice top for getting on Zoom, but I’ll keep thinking about it! As always, I appreciate your feedback and I hope this post helps you find some spring work pieces to love!
