The neutral shoe, my favorite kind to buy and wear. In coming up with the posts for this closet classics series, I started by not only looking at what is being sold for the upcoming season, but also by taking a look back through blog posts to see what I’ve worn the most. Nearly every post of mine includes a neutral shoe. Nude shoes are leg elongating, which this shortie loves, and they go with nearly everything. Making them a good buy year after year.
A Neutral Shoe for Every Season
So, I’ve rounded up four different neutral/nude shoes to take you through every season. I’ve owned each of these for at least a year, and trust me – have put plenty of wear on them.
Sam Edelman Hazel Pumps
Many of the lasting styles I have in my closet are from Sam Edelman, the Hazel Pump being one of them. The Hazel Pumps come in several colors, but I love the neutral nude. These shoes are surprisingly comfortable, make my legs look longer, and apparently are my most favorite thing to wear for blog posts.
A great pair of shoes can make a blah day better in my opinion. If you feel like you look good, you’ll be more confident – these pumps always do that for me. These are true to size.
Sam Edelman Sally Flats
Although I don’t wear these flats all that often on the blog, I wear them constantly day to day. I was really surprised looking back through posts to see how little I photograph them, but I probably wear them more than any other shoe in my closet. I love these flats so much, I’ve purchased the exact pair a few times to replace them. When I first purchased them, they had a different name, but the style is exactly the same. They are suede but the way I clean and protect them keeps them looking great year after year. These run slightly large, I sized down 1/2 size, I’m wearing the color oatmeal.
Tory Burch Miller Flip Flop
Come summer, these shoes become my most worn pair. I’ve had mine going on three years now, and they are still beautiful. They are on the expensive side, but if you treat them well, they will last for years. They run small, I sized up 1/2 size, and I’m wearing the color makeup.
Treasure and Bond Sannibel Wedge
By far, these wedges were my favorite purchase last summer. I wore them with everything! Shorts, dresses, skirts, pants – they’re the kind of shoe that instantly dresses up any outfit. Plus, they’re comfortable (once you break them in) and not crazy expensive. I was very excited to see them back this year! These are true to size, and I’m wearing tan leather.
Now, since I’m fully stocked on classic neutral shoes for summer, I’ll make it a point to add some fun colors in this season – but if you’re in the market for a great lasting shoe purchase, you won’t regret any of these.
